Your top 3Hibs games outside of the obvious winner

As it says on the tin. Ignoring 21st May...your favourite 3 Hibs games you attended. And why...

1/ 4-4 Skol League Cup quarter final with Celtic in 1985; Game had everything...skill, goals, fever pitch excitement right till the end of the penalty shoot-out in which Hibs prevailed.

2/ 5-1 CIS League Cup Final win against Kilmarnock in 2007. A great young Hibs team built by the previous manager Tony Mowbray reached it's peak with new boss John Collins at the helm that wonderful Sunday afternoon in a quite magnificent Hampden performance. Killie were fortunate to escape with just a 5-1 hammering.

3/ 1-0 UEFA cup win against Bob Paisley's Liverpool in 1975 at Easter Road...yes, I was only a 10 year old laddie at the time but I remember clearly being at at this game and watching Hibs record a famous European win against a great team which went on to win the trophy. I was down at the corner near the cowshed with my dad and got a great view of Joe Harper's goal. John Brownlie missed a penalty late on which had he scored would have got Hibs through as we lost the return leg 3-1 at Anfield. It was incredible night at Easter Road. 20,000 crowd which would have been much higher if the weather had not been so bad.

Tempted to put the incredible 2-0 win against AEK Athens, the 6-2 game or the Millenium Derby (all brilliant matches) in there, but I feel I had to include a childhood memory of a famous Euro night from the 70's team in.

Could easily change by the hour and as other games come to mind....BUT I'll base it on how mental the celebration was for me rather than pick Huns skol cup semi for example which was a phenomenal result and massively enjoyable or Anderlecht for nearly 3000 away fans in Europe and a great performance.

Archigol - back in the days of 10,000 plus away fans standing at the Gorgie Road end - and part of their main stand, Our record then wasn't good either so all the sweeter.

O'Connor derby winner with 10 men at ER. Wheelchair helper ran on the pitch to get the ref as the sending off was such a shocker.

6-2 - a festival of football and the scoreline massively flattered them.

Special (goalscoring celebration) mention for when Mickey Weir of all people scored a header at the Beach end at Pittodrie against a very good Awberdeen team to win the game. Resulted in hundreds charging down those benches to get pitchside. Big fixture back in the day - here it is: Aberdeen 0 - 1 Hibernian, Scottish League (08/02/1992)

Late winner from Mickey in the classic white Adidas away kit at the beach end, a game notable for Southfield Hibby having a lengthy kip stretched out on the benches in Hibs end after too many early peeves in brechin...

Aberdeen away used to be one of - if not the best - trip of the season and Reekin' in Brechin was a large part of that.

0-3 hiding of the original huns (cup game)
    5-1 cup final 2007.
4-2 cup match at Rugby Park, which included the 'shaking stand' episode.....maybe it was the shaky stand that made it memorable?
    Ever play this game chief?

Brondby away - one big celebration of epic proportions. It had everything. A Scottish Cup party in the sun. An away win in Europe and another SDG leadership display of legend.

2-2 In the Scottish in 2016 at the Bus Shelter. It had everything. Drama, goals, drive, guts and desire. And a John Mcginn song earworm for months after the event. And possibly the second most important game in our history...

Hibs beating Celtc away 3-1 In 2005. Sproule and Broonie ripped them apart. My boy's first game at Parkheid and he remembers it to this day.

Honourable mentions to Anderlecht away, beating the Gunts in the Wee Cup in 2006 with 81% possession, the Shiels and OConnor 2-1 derby midweek win, Killie QF away and the 2007 cup final
Hibs are standing on the brink of history...

Millennium derby minus 10 and didn't feel the cold but that may have been the absinthe! The 3rd goal being scored with no gunts in the ground.
Beating the old huns 2-1 At ER Houchie and Weir up front and Mo Johnston too feart to come near the East.
I've told my 6-2 story before but that game will stick in my memory for varied reason till the day I die.

1, Millennium derby. 0-3. It really ought to have been much much more...

2, 6-2 derby. THAT Latapy goal. Wow. Just $#@!in wow. Again the scoreline let them off. That's just how good we were.

3, Scottish Cup v Rangers 2006. 3-0. Huge Hibs support. THAT team would have won the Scottish Cup that season but self destructive forces won the day...

I know I’m showing my age but the 7-0 game
    The night against Napoli
And the 6-2 game would be my top three

    Magnificent performance.
Bobby Duncan, who later worked beside my cousin The Frenchman, scored from just past the dug out !
We were totally in command that night and as a young boy I remember thinking that we were the greatest team ever.
I also recall at the age of eight going to see my first floodlit game and we beat Real Madrid 2-0.
I think that time does alter memories but for me Pat Stanton was the embodiment of everything a footballer, and more especially a Hibs player,
    should be.
I was not old enough to see the famous five but heard all about them from my grandad and my great uncle and of course the Frenchman.
You will all know that when it’s in you to be a Hibs supporter you take the highs and lows.
But my word some of those highs have been up there with the best times of my life.
