    Facing Leigh...

for the first time since...well, we all know when.

It's going to be a weird one next week with Leigh, Broony and Hendo's shadow on one side. Us with Stokes, Efe, Lennon and Dylan.

The media are going to be giving this narrative big licks all week and I'm not interested in the Lenny angle but I am feeling a wee tad nostalgic and emotional about the prospect of facing Leigh. He never disrespected Dundee or Livi when he played against them for us. I can't see him doing anything at all, even remotely offensive next week (bar the inevitable goal) but it's going to be a weird one.

Best bit is, he was never ours to feel this about. But, by Sauzee, he's the epitome of "one of our own"
Hibs are standing on the brink of history...

Reminds me of being heartbroken the first time Jimmy O'Rourke played against us. There"s a sad inevitability about it.

There will be 50,000 home fans chanting "One Neil Lennon" next week and Neil Lennon will applaud them. Not quite Ray Wilkins Ibrox 1996 but a strange one...

I remember Erich Schaedler(RIP) playing against us for Dundee. That was a hard one to take.

I think Leigh will be very respectful to us, but don't expect any favours on the pitch.

I actually have the suspicion he won't play.

Rogers knows how Griffiths feels about Hibs, and probably understands that his team has enough to beat us without him. I'd expect him to start on the bench, and be an impact sub if Hibs are holding out or, whisper it, winning at that point.

Could be the case, Rodgers was on Talksport earlier saying Dembele is close to being ready to start following an injury.

Sparky’s a pro and by all accounts looks to be loving life at Celtic, so if he plays he’ll give his all. If he scores, he won’t celebrate however.

I’m not sure he’ll start though as he’ll probably start in Europe on Wednesday, meaning we’ll have the equally difficult task of trying to handle Dembele.
We wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do, and we wanna get loaded, and we wanna have a good time... That's what we're gonna do

I hope Efe and Hanlon boot him up and down the pitch. Not too hard though, need him fit for the Scotland double header. Still love the guy. But cant see him smiling when we $#@! their unbeaten run. 👊

This will be the first time he has ever faced his beloved Hibs. I'm sure he will bag a hat-trick.....of O'G's. and then proceed to give everyone and allone the finger. Houchen will score the winner but we'll all chant "Keith Keith Keith.." but he's none the wiser. In a good way likes. In a Wright way innit.

Notice how the jounos dont refer to him as 'Leigh Griffith, Hibs fan'. It`s always "his boyhood heroes" now that he plays for Celtc...
I started out with nothing and i`ve still got most of it left.

I wonder if there’s a trade off with Marciano - seems a bit convenient the Israeli is missing when his prescence is likely to create a bit of a stir in the library with the Palestinian militants.

Nah, I doubt they'd move Yom Kippur for the match.

"Ofir Marciano has been allowed to miss Hibernian’s Scottish Premier League clash against Celtic due to it taking place on Yom Kippur.

The Israeli international goalkeeper asked manager Neil Lennon for his permission to miss the match, which he granted."

I suppose we could have asked though

This subject puts me in mind of the day in the Manchester derby that former Manchester United hero, Denis Law scored a goal for City that he imagined had relegated his former club to the Second Division.

Denis's famous back heel into the net was so nonchalant that it looked almost like a half-hearted attempt on the goal, audacious as he often was. No famous one-handed salute to the fans that day, the Lawman sloped off back to the centre circle, desolate and inconsolable by his celebrating teammates. Denis was subbed almost immediately afterwards.

Maybe a little dramatic for a Leigh Griffiths scenario and I am certain of his professionalism but that lad has green and white Hibernian blood coursing through his veins and I think it will genuinely hurt him similarly to do his job and score against Hibs.

I have a hunch Leigh won't be a major player, it's the other forwards we need to worry about. We will be under near incessant pressure, and it will be how well we cope with that that matters. I think we will get a couple of chances, and if we can take them who knows.....

Great effort from the boys, I'd take a draw anytime there.

Started off very well and they didn't like us having a go at them, then they got grips with their game, although the last 20mins we got back into it again, second half I felt we dominated them, overall delighted with the performance, disappointed to have came away with a draw and how did Gordon keep out Whittaker's from 1 yard!!

    Still Dundee still breaking Hearts!!

Fantastic result and performance by all accounts, sounded like we were the better team second half up until Celtic equalised. If only we could've held the lead just a little longer. Added bonus is the result from Dens 😂

Sounds like Lennon got the tactics spot on and went for it especially second half. Great result and could have been more. Well done boys!
