    Ross c 0 v 1 hibs

    Laidlaw
    Whittaker Ambrose Hanlon Stevenson
    Boyle Bartley McGeouch McGinn
    Murray Stokes

Decent team today. I would have played slivka for Bartley but hopefull the 11 picked should be enough to beat County.

From 200 miles away we've dropped points we should have won so this is especially pleasing holding a team at bay for 75 mins.

    Big tick.

I love when Hibs play in Dingwall. I get in the car after the game and 15 minutes later i`m hame and drinking beer. Quality.
I started out with nothing and i`ve still got most of it left.

Excellent three points today on the road.
That's three wins, three draws and only one defeat...for a newly promoted team I'd say that's a pretty good start to the season.

Going to be a bit controversial here....I think we are already missing Jason Cummings, or at least a poacher striker like him. We have dominated nearly every game we have played so far this season and yet still a fairly paltry return of goals from the strikers so far with the exception of the hugely talented Stokes when he has been in the mood. A regular penalty box goalscorer at top 6 premier league level is what we are missing and I really wish the manager had managed to get that sort of striker in during the summer window. Stokesy is a great player and will score goals for us but I'm talking about an instinctive penalty box striker who reads a move ahead, sniffs out chances and just knocks the ball into the net. From all reports we are creating a lot of chances but nobody seems to be taking them on any sort of regular basis. You can see why Lennon was strongly rumoured to be interested in getting Louis Moult in. Simon Murray has gone of the boil but he will have ups and downs in form this season I feel. I think he is a very good player but is one of the players who is finding the step up quite tough going. We need to get big Dave fit and ready to play more regularly. Overall, I still believe we are a striker short for the season.

Defensively it's good to get a clean sheet at last. I still think Lennon may bring in an out of contract central defender to tide us over till January as we are short of an out and out stopper.

Huge test next Saturday against a formidable Celtic team. No one will give us a chance which is a good thing. I also think it was good news for us that they won the OF game today as they would definitely not falter two league games in a row.

Stokes spends a lot of time outside the box which leaves us worryingly short up front when we have midfielders who rarely get into the box and especially like Tuesday when Murray wasn't starting.

I thought Lennon had addressed that in the summer with Swanson and Slivka signings but neither are regular starters so we have last seasons midfield starting like today and none of them carry a goal threat unless McGinn bangs one in from outside the box. Boyle will end up with a decent return this season I think and we need Murray to get back to scoring form.

Big Dave wasn't signed as someone who will start the majority of games hence why he has hardly had a sniff. The forums will be full of shouts to give him a chance and once we see what he's like he'll be relegated to Brian Graham status. There were shouts early on to play Graham more regularly then we saw why he didn't play. If Big Dave was good enough to start regularly - in Lennon's mind - he'd have had more game time by now. Back up big lump to bring on in certain circumstances I reckon. I think he's the type that would benefit hugely in getting a run of games but I cant see that happening.

Great three points today and credit to the defence and keeper for stopping the rot. Lennon will be happy with the response to him slating them. No prisoners Neil

Stokes was the best player on the field today in my opinion. Surprised that Laidlaw did not play the ball out from the back very much. He must have sussed very quickly that their big number 15 got every ball in the air, when he booted it up the park, Murray trying valiantly to win it but never doing so.

    BIG G

Controversially, I disagree about Cummings. We created as many chances last season (against poorer opposition) and didn’t take them with Cummings in the team.

I agree with the rest of your post: I think we are lacking up front, and we need better foil for Stokes: Murray is a decent player, I’ve not been impressed with what I’ve seen of Matulevicius, and that’s all we really have. Cummings was a poacher but not much more - for us to keep progressing we need a striker who is a clinical finisher but can also hold up the ball, link up with Stokes, and stretch the opposition (basically an Adam Rooney/Louis Moult type).
