    21st Hampden Appearance This Millenium

Read in the Evening News our league cup semi final will be our 21st Hampden appearance since 2000 - well ahead of every other Scottish side bar Celtic (not counting Oldco and Newco Rangers as the same side). So tried to remember (without googling) what those fixtures were. Managed to come up with the following but seem to be missing one match - can anyone help? Done from memory so no doubt a few errors!

    2000 Aberdeen SC SF Lost
    2001 Livingston SC SF Won
    2001 Celtic SC F Lost
2002 Ayr United LC SF Lost
    2003 Rangers LC SF Won
    2004 Livingston LC F Lost
2005 Dundee United SC SF Lost
    2006 Hearts SC SF Lost
    2007 Kilmarnock LC F Won
    2007 Dunfermline SC SF Lost
    2012 Aberdeen SC SF Won
    2012 Hearts SC F Lost
    2013 Falkirk SC SF Won
    2013 Celtic SC F Lost
    2015 Falkirk SC SF Lost
2016 Ross County LC F Lost
2016 Dundee United SC SF Won
    2016 Rangers SC F Won
    2017 Aberdeen SC SF Lost
    2017 Celtic LC SF ???

    Dunfermline replay 2007

Edit: you have the result of the replay, but not the first tie: 0-0

Cheers mate, was driving me mental! Forgot the Dunfermline game went to a replay. That was the one with the Scott Brown "I dunno" post-match interview IIRC

    Pedantically,

There’s also a league cup v Queen’s Park under Collins.

We were doing this in the pub not that long ago and the Dunfermline SC semi knocked us also at the time.

33% win rate. Ok but could be better given Old firm make up 25% of fixture opponents.

Despite being mediocre for large parts since the millennium (fantastic spells under Mowbray, Collins, Stubbs and Lennon) its great to have so many occasions out wae the Cabbage.

Went to all those games and have the mental scars to prove it. Although a lot of healing done in last 16 months.

That one still rankles in the what-could-have-been category.

7 wins out of 20 appearances. Could be worse I suppose but IMO it's still a poor record of victories at the National Stadium for a club which is the joint third biggest in the country.

On the flip side to have actually made 21 appearances (when we play Celtic) and be second only to Celtic is a commendable achievement.

Well remember that first one in 2000...the 2-1 SC semi-final defeat from Aberdeen. Totally gutted after that game as I don't think I have ever been so confident beforehand of Hibs winning a game at Hampden as I was that night. We were a much better team than them at that time and we made a complete arse of the game.

I seem to remember discussion on a stattos forum that no Scottish team has lost more semis than hibs.

We've also lost the most finals outside Celtic & the Huns (RIP). 11 Scottish Cups, 7 League Cups.
