It will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts.

I hope we score first for a change and score early. If that happens I suspect the events of the week will be out on hold for the rest of the game.

Difficult fixture but I expect a home win.

Lenny rightly highlighted that we were noisy v Partick but not v Hamilton. I hope the crowd roar on the boys.

Looking forward to it. Not been able to get to a game since Rangers and we've not won any of them.

Hopefully a good win and a good atmosphere in the stands.

Subdued atmosphere but Hibs prevail with a 2 nowt win. Stokes double supplied by first Murray and then the Boyler. Some peeps will still go home with a bad taste in their mouth.

    Understandable though...

Fontaine out for three months with a serious ankle injury...bad news. Hopefully McGregor will be back sooner than first forecast. We can't afford any more long term injuries in central defence to be honest.
Tough game this week-end against an in-form Motherwell who have a proven top flight goalscorer on their books and one who will have to be marked closely. They will be well organised and will be difficult to break down. If Hibs can keep the level of performance up from recent weeks and for once add goals we will have a good chance of winning.

    2-1 Hibs.

I'll be quietly mumbling a Strip The Titles of the Cheating Huns song while holding an invisible Strip The Titles of the Cheating Huns banner. But mainly urging the team to do the biz on the park. Hibs win.

I actually think this is something of a must-win.

Motherwell aren't much cop, and we've dominated our last two fixtures without winning them; a bad habit at any level.

We should really be in the shake-up for second at the moment, and failing to win today could firmly shove us into the bottom six despite what most of us consider "a strong start".

    Very important match today.

A draw or a loss makes our start look awful but a win makes it look good. I agree with those saying this is a must win game. Hopefully Stokes and Murray start scoring again.

Marciano is terrified of crosses, bloody vampire! Motherwell could've scored a few more in either half from him being nowhere near them.
I don't think Whittaker is showing too much either tbh, Lewis should be playing on the left.

Then Neil got it all wrong with his subs, Murray wasn't having a great game by any means, but Matu coming on was a non event. Then when he brought Slivka on we played Stokes on the left and Barker on the right.... Even though Barker had that whole left hand side inside out in the first half, then we never used him before he switched sides in the second half though. I don't understand.

Referee was a joke though, and the east stand linesman can't see the lines. I'm sure that was an earlier penalty on Stokes, I'm sure a booking should've followed the hand ball as that was no doubt intentional. Slivka wins a 50/50 header with his very first touch and gets booked for an elbow (Should've been red if it was an elbow no?) There was other stuff on both sides he got wrong. But credit for booking the dive. He got that right. Wasn't hard to miss though, it was what I imagine Kuqi's swandive would've looked like.

We beat them in the physical battle early on, good to see that from Hibs, they came out heavy handed and SJM and Marv sorted that right out. All in all not good enough though, we gave them alot of chances they didn't take. We did have our own moments though.

Think I'm one of the few still wondering id Marciano is much better than Laidlaw. Felt like a defeat. Some good signs, Murray needs a couple of goals I think to settle

Desperately disappointing not to win, and Well were clearly relieved with the draw, in fact their fans were carrying on almost as if they had won the cup! I suppose it's a mark of where we are that a draw is disappointing against a team who's been in the SPL for years. Well clearly came out to spoil and Boyler was heavily marked. I can't help feel their goals were largely of our own making. I think we miss Daz as an organiser although I think Efe(who took a couple of blows to the face) and Hanlon played well. Well done to Stokesy on his brace. I need to watch it on Alba, because their goals were almost surreally quick. Their second goal was from just outside the box - whether Rocky was unsighted I don't know. Yes I thought the ref was crap and there was some desperate defending from Well throughout. I like Whittaker but if I was Lewy I would be aggrieved at almost being frozen out.

Special mention goes to the kids on the Tannoy. In fact a boy near me said they were easier to understand than the usual announcers!

Loving it being within walking distance from the stadium.

What are we going to do without Just Back?

Just noticed from Alba Efe got a hand in the face from a Well player early on and I think there was definite contact at our first penalty claim, probably more than for our proper penalty! Rocky did keep the ball in the area early on. Sorry Rocky you should have come for the cross that led to their goal.

From Hibs TV Barts was gutted but Lennon was raging 'unacceptable', 'no leadership' and 'apology to the supporters'...

I'll be accused of bedwetting, of course, so I'll just get that out of the way.

But I'm a bit worried about Hibs at the moment. We've managed to get three points from the last twelve, and have played none of the "top four" in that sequence. We've dominated two games without winning them, squandered a two-goal lead and lost a bad game at home, and have developed a tendency to ship pretty bad goals. If you're not winning when you're playing well, not solid defensively, and aren't scoring enough goals when you're on top... Well, that's just a recipe for disaster. As things stand, we're now merely a single point above our rivals from across the city who are both individually and collectively worse than we are.

What looked like a strong start has sputtered badly, and we have some awkward fixtures coming up.

First of all I thought it was a good competitive game overall. A draw was about right but to be honest we done well to hang on for the point.
In the first half despite being ahead I never thought we looked comfortable particularly in defence where we looked fragile all afternoon without McGregor's assured presence in there. Ambrose is a good, confident player but as I have said before I feel he plays too much as an individual in a part of the team which really has to operate as a collective unit...he can't be easy to play alongside. Whittaker IMO has to be utilised further forward because a defender he ain't in a million years. David Gray looks like he is struggling a bit up against better standard players in this league.

I thought Hibs competed well enough in the first half against an in-form and well drilled Motherwell team but always looked vulnerable when under pressure. After we went 2-0 up I had a fear that if they got a goal back they would go on and win, so I was quite relieved when the final whistle went as they dominated the last half hour. Hibs lost their shape a bit and after the subs came on we began to lose the physical battle in the middle which you have to win in this league. As for the players Slivka looks like he may take a while to adjust to the robust nature of the Scottish game. He looks a silky type who doesn't like the physical side of the game but he is going to have to learn to adapt to all that quickly if he is going to succeed at Easter Road. I don't think it's a good idea to play two out and out wingers in the modern game unless they are top quality which ours are not. Stokes for me is a class above anything else we have. He annoys me because he tends to play in fits and starts but you can see when he gets the ball he is real quality...as is Louis Moult btw a player I would love to see at Easter Road. That second goal was top drawer striking.

Some of our players look like they are struggling a bit with their fitness and some are clearly finding the step up to the top league a bit of a problem. We are a bit of a work I progress and I can see a lot of draws this season. Too many players only seem to be able to play in short bursts and that has to change. The defence has concerned me from day one and without McGregor long term and Fontaine as cover we really are lacking in real leadership back there. So a few problems to solve but it's another point and hopefully we can progress to the League Cup semi-final on Tuesday night...it will be another big test for us.

On the plus side we did manage to score first. And second too.

Strange though, 1 home win out of 3 very winnable games. Conversely we're unbeatean on the road. Our season will hinge on how we turn draws round; my hunch is we will turn them into more wins than losses as the season progresses.

They still don' allow you to bet here in Holland like at a bookmakers (tho I'm sure there are ways around that if you really wanted to) and I ain't a better anyway but I do like the odd sneaky prediction.

Think I'm one of the few still wondering id Marciano is much better than Laidlaw. Felt like a defeat. Some good signs, Murray needs a couple of goals I think to settle
I think Marciano on the whole is a good keeper. He was mostly reliable last year but his kicking so far and the performance at the weekend was worrying.
Laidlaw I feel is unlucky, he's a good keeper, was impressed last season when he played.

Good seeing him get a game tonight, heard Neil on the radio saying Marciano has (I dunno how to spell it or pronounce it so I won't do it a disjustice) coming up, but I'm assuming it's a Jewish holiday, meaning he won't be playing and Ross will need to play anyway.
