    Hibs related roadworks :-)

They're mucking about around the top of Easter Road and Abbymount again. God knows what they're doing! Whatever they're doing it will be the end of September before it's completed.

Anyway a couple of times the queue up Easter Road has reached as far as Tamsons! The queue the other way beyond the roundabout at the parliament! The queues on London Road don't appear to be as bad.

With tomorrow being about as busy as it gets with a huge home support I expect traffic chaos.

    You have been warned.

I'm not sure when Leith Street closes but that's bound to affect travel plans this season and into next!

Evening News were saying 2nd Sept with buses rerouted along London Rd up the top of Easter Rd and then down to Princes St. Its gonna be a $#@!ing nightmare getting in and out of Leith for the next 6-9 months. And all so we get a big curly turd of a shopping centre.

New one way system in operation as of TODAY.

The top of ER you can only turn left towards Meadowbank and neither right or straight on. Coming in the other direction, the very top section of ER is one way only. The traffic wanting to go to the Royal Mile or town now needs to go left, turn right onto Montrose Terrace and so on. Any traffic coming from Meadowbank must now ALL go up Montrose Terrace too. No access to London Road unless they go up Montrose Terrace and turn right.

It's effectively going to be one massive gridlocked roundabout with the houses on the north side of Montrose Terrace in the middle. Access to abbeyhill colonies will only be possible via rossie place only in both directions. That will add to the problems on ER. Next few home games you would just be best to avoid completely. No signs yet to say how long this will go on for.

At 4pm today it was all working a treat and going up Easter Road was actually quicker than usual. There were no queues on London Road nor Regent Road with the approach from the parliament probably only a dozen cars longer than usual.

    Quell mucho Surprised!

Was on a number 1 going up Easter road today. At the top of the road instead of going right along London road. It now goes left all the way to meadowbank stadium, does a u turn in the street, back along, up Montrose terrace, down abbey hill then left. Your be quicker getting off the bus top of Easter road doing henners diagonally at the lights having a 5 minute kip at the bus stop then getting back on the bus as it turns back on London road

aye, end result will be a shopping centre / hotel complex which will undoubtedly be atrocious.

Very true. Those of us who commute on weekdays escape this hell until Monday of the next week. Suppose it's lucky September 2 isn't a Hibs day.

A lot busier today at rush hour. And on day 4 of the changes, this morning just after 6am when I was driving to work, witnessed two cars and a van completely ignore the turn left at the top of ER...the cones on the road to prevent right turns didn't put them off. They just drove through them, scattering them in the process...
