    A Field Of Our Own

Saw it this afternoon courtesy of Street Soccer Scotland. Well anyone who was lucky enough to get tickets for this sell out show will not be disappointed. I will leave a comprehensive review to others, however the idea that a play about our Clubs Irish Founding Fathers with Canon Edward Joseph Hannan in cassock and Michael Whelahan from Kilglass, County Roscommon, Ireland, being performed within The Holy Ground, would have stretched the imagination not so many years back. The idea that a present employee of Hibernian FC, looking incredibly like Jason, shouting at the top of his voice 'Erin Go Bragh' must be a first. Actors spot on as were the four piece band. Get yourself the programme too, it is fab. Excellent show. Well done Duncan Kidd, Strange Town actors, the band and Hibernian FC.

Guys and girls I can't emphasise how much your words are encouraging and helping me. This battle has barely started but I know you'll be by my side every step of the way - it's giving me great strength - Shaun 16/03/2016

Yeah it's been a very enjoyable evening. No spoilers for me. All I'll day is try and get yourself seated/standing towards the middle as it's a bit difficult to hear all the dialogue if you are out on the wings.

Mrs Plunk and I went along last night. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Duncan Kidd, the writer, has managed to pack in a lot of history and emotion into 90 minutes. Had a tear or two in my eyes by the end........
As previously mentioned, best to sit/stand in the middle section if possible. The audience area is NOT all seated - at least half the space is standing only.

Was there this afternoon and wasn't sure what to expect. As a wannabe Hibee i thoroughly enjoyed it and it was good to learn about the founding and beginnings of the club. Quite sad to think though that the intolerance of immigrants is still as prevalent now as it was nearly 150 years ago.

Saw it last night, thanks to the Bounce. I thought it was great. Migration, community, family, place, and history. All tied together by a football club. The cast were brilliant, and I felt that Canon Hannan was particularly strong - it's not easy to play those types of ethnic-cultural community leaders.

It was hard not to be moved by the story of how our club broke down barriers and built bridges in the pursuit of integration. Though the play didn't shy away from some of the more ambiguous issues around segregation and assimilation, and in that respect I thought the Irish navvy Hibs supporter's discussion with Hannan was another really strong section.

An impressive range of subjects and issues covered. As others have said, the music was just great. And what a brilliant touch, hosting it beneath the east terracing. From the slums of the Old Town to a field of our own - well done to all involved.

This just sounds so special and embodies the story of many of the reasons why myself and my family before me support(ed) Hibs.

I would dearly love to see it.

Much appreciated. Turns out some mutual pals. Following Hibs around the country tends to do that!
