    Boyle

Anyone know what his injury situation is ?...I know there were rumours at the week-end that it was quite serious with several weeks out being mentioned. I hope very much that this is not the case as for me he has been one of our best players in the League Cup matches and against Partick Thistle.

Bad news. We'll miss his pace, skill and goal threat.
Hopefully back sooner rather than later.

With McGeouch, McGinn & Slivka potentially the best midfield 3 in the country, and with Stokes & Murray first choices up front, Swanson, Boyle & Bartley may all be fighting over the one starting place. If 3 at the back they could all be on the bench. Great situation for Lennon and the fans.

    Shame, he's been brilliant!

Little bit of a chance for Fraser Murray to get some game time though.

It's great credit to the club that our squad is able to accommodate losing such a key player without everyone panicking!

Boyle would have tore up that second half at Ibrox. I know it's ifs and buts, though I think he could have been the difference between 3-2 and 4/5-1.

Looking forward to his return but thankfully we have the squad depth so as not to risk rushing it.

Agreed, we had loads of the ball 2nd half and the Huns were committing guys forward to try and find a way back into the game. Would've been ideal conditions to unleash the squirrel, could've been a real thumping! Happy with the 3-2 mind!

Yep, completely agree. Competition makes such a difference to how players play. Shouldn't be that way - and it probably isn't for all - but I've often noticed marked differences in performance when, say, a players potential competitor is about to come back from injury.
    so what do I know

I've been going on all summer about Lennon getting in a wide left or right sided player with pace. IMO you can't ever have enough pace in your team. There was a reason why Lennon brought in Chris Humphrey in January...he knew we needed some pace and width in the team. Unfortunately Humphrey was never up to match fitness and also got a bad injury early on in his time at Hibs and never really recovered properly. Boyle is the only player have in the squad who can give us that length and pace in the wide areas. His skills have been crucial to our very good start both in the league and League Cup. Just over two weeks to go in the transfer window and I really hope the manager manages to bring in someone who we can use if/when Martin Boyle is unavailable. Meanwhile haste ye back Boyler !

I'm delighted Squirrel has won over the majority now.
Having some 'busy' players making runs for him to cross to makes all the difference.
