    Copy of Hibs contract

Hi, folks. I was wondering if any bouncers could help me out. I've e-mailed Leeane but I know she's mad busy and I couldn't be happier in what Leeane and what the whole club has done in this short while for the total overhaul of the club.

A few bouncers out there who know me also know that my Grandad, God rest him, Tommy Egan played for Hibs. What i'm asking for is a photocopy of the contract he signed with Hibs in 1933. He played 145 games for the Hibs until the end of the 1938 season. Hibs did a tour of Ireland at the end of that season and at the end was given a free transfer and was eventually signed by Birmingham City in 1939.

I have written to the SFA and the SPFL previously and was invited to go over and see the contract in Glasgow. One of the reasons I was asking the club was if Hibs could get a photocopy of the contract and could send it to me.

Living in Wexford now and with the job I can't make a lot of games now and cant get over to scotland as much as possible at the best of times and wondered if any bouncers knew of any other contacts in Hibs that could help as I know Leeane is busy.

    Cheers

Tracey, thanks ever so much for any help you can give. Myself and the family have never made a point of bothering the club or for asking for anything to be honest.

It's just that I would love to have it and pass it down to my family. Myself and my wife haven't any children ourselves but have close family who are Hibs fans and i'm still getti g new Hibs fans on my wife's side too. If it means getting over to Edinburgh to collect it would be wonderful.Thanks.My e-mail address is Kevin.egan70@yahoo.ie.

I think it would be great to have that piece of history with your family.

I will let you know how I get on.

    Thanks

Thanks so much Tracey, I've sent the message to your e-mail. I met with the fella that runs the Hibs Historical Trust a good few years ago in the stadium and he brought out a programme from the centenary dinner at the old NB.

It was great to see all the old Hibs players including my Grandad listed. He had a wonderful night with Hibs laying on a taxi there and back. He was so proud of the club looking after him and we're still so proud of him too. Think it took him a few days for him to recover ha ha but had a wonderful night. Thanks Tracey.

I’m guessing hibs don’t hold a copy of the contract but a copy is held at Hamden. I suspect it might be less painful to cut hibs out the equation and go straight to the curator at hampden, Richard McBrearty, I’ve had dialogue with him in the past I’ll see if I can help.f

Out of curiosity - he's no relation to John Egan who plays for Brentford is he?

The Wexford family connection just made me add 2+2 to get 5!

I'm afraid not pal. I'm from Edinburgh originally although the family emigrated to Scotland from the Kilkenny/Laois area in the 1860's. My wife is from Wexford.

Just another thank you so much to Willie Who has sent me wonderful pictures to me of my Grandad from his playing career with Hibs. I've been in contact with him by e-mail too.

I also received an e-mail from Leeann today as well trying to help with more info, memorabilia with Tom from the Hibs Historical Trust. I've been blown away with all the likes and messages from Hibees all over the place on my Facebook page too. GGTTH.

Meant to say Willie, who sent me, not Willie Who. Dont want to give Willie's full name out but thanks Willie if you see this.
