Next up Arbroath in the Betfred thingy...

We've 48 hours until our next game - at home to Arbroath. Should we win our next 2 games we are almost certain to progress to the knockout stages as other groups are not as polarised as ours.
Will we see Dave make a debut or will Bob be signed in time?

Does every team play same number of home and away games? And was this drawn out hat? It seems to me anyway, just a ludicrous set up as usual

The draw was live on telly. Each team plays 2 home and 2 away. It was seeded based on league position last year. All group winners go through plus a small number of runner up teams. Doing the sums, 10 points gets us through for certain. So in our own hands but finishing runner up means playing a higher seeded team in the next round. The shambles is it being North and South...and us and Hertz ending up in the North section due to the sheer numbers of West coast south teams.

Looking forward to this. My 74 yr old Uncle Bob has been an Arbroath season ticket holder for nearly 50 years. That he has lived in Silverknowes for the last 40 years, and travels up and back every other weekend during the season, really defines dedication for me.

    5-0 Hibs, but

Can't make the game on Tuesday.
Hopefully a win followed by another one on Saturday at Alloa so we progress through this farcical section thing.
Why have a section league then decide drawn matches on penalties ?...whoever thought of that wonderful idea ?

I was more meaning, how did they decide on the home and away games, ie us up at RC etc.
    Rather big advantage for RC

Assume because ross county seeded higher? Don't mind the group format but would have preferred midweek games through august instead of games in July.

Can't remember exactly how it worked but there was a draw for which matches were home and away. I remember cos I said to my boy after the group draw was finished that we'd guaranteed get Arbroath and Montrose at home cos we've not been to either of those and I fancied the trip.

Will no doubt be another low crowd tonight, but hopefully get another decent win under our belts in what's our last home game before the proper season starts. Can see Simon Murray getting a couple again tonight

Towering header from Porteous. This lad looks a real prospect.

4,856 attendance. Not much interest ib these group stages.

    And pricing a factor?

Wasn't at the match tonight but it sounds convincing enough.
Bad goal conceded by all accounts, but hopefully iron out deficiencies before the season starts.
Pit about Swanson's penalty miss. The guy scored 9 penalties in one season for St Johnstone and the first one he gets for us he sends into orbit.
Great to see Simon Murray get a hat-trick and also great to see the fast emerging Ryan Porteous score two. That will do his confidence the world of good.

I wasn't interested in heading through after work to be honest. League games are different.
    Its Liam Henderson to deliver...
And David Gray has scored! The captain!

Was a bit of a stroll in the park by the end. Murray and Boyle looked lively up front and neither stopped running. Murray is a real livewire. Really taking to him. Fine hat trick too. (Jason who?)

Decent work out for us although we were a bit sloppy in front of goal for first hour we still tucked away half a dozen.

Very impressed by Ryan Porteous who I'll predict will become one of the best centre backs in the country by the time he's 21. What a find from the youth academy. Incredibly composed for his age and powerful in the air. Took his goals well and deserved his MoM.
