How Much Is The New Marathon Bet Deal Worth?

This like the Jason Cummings deal value also not mentioned?

I found the club PR of the new deal quite shy?

Probably up on last year seeing as we are in a higher league. I don't know what last year was worth so my best guess is X+X% = N where X is last year, X% is the uplift giving us N which is Now. Hope this helps

The original deal back in 2014 was a "significant six figure sum" and this new deal "reflects our status as one of Scotland's biggest clubs". So somewhat ambiguous, but it will be up on the original deal.

As with transfer fees, most clubs don't announce the figures unless they are trying to brag about the ostentatious sums involved (like Man Utd with Adidas & Pogba). At our level, keeping cards close to the chest can be to our advantage when trying to negotiate deals.
We wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do, and we wanna get loaded, and we wanna have a good time... That's what we're gonna do

Aberdeen get 500K a year, Huns 800K, Celtc 2.6 Million. Gunts I think give theirs for free relating to a guilty past?

Think they sponsor the FF stand too but it's not on the replica tops,if it's on the players tops it won't leave much room for their names....

thought it was going to be on the back of the shirts like Crabbies used to be, no idea how much such deals are worth.

Why the clamour for financial details of all the income?
Commercial confidentiality is pretty common in such deals - and there's always just a bit of spin around anything put out.

Is there a motive behind the questions?

As in 'some suspicion/distrust' as opposed to you guys just being nosey fcukers?

No suspicion or distrust on my part towards our current custodian and those currently running our club.

It's normal I would have thought for us supporters to be nosey $#@!ers on all things that benefit our club?

I'm with Piltonstany on this: couldn't give a fcuk on the number of beans, just content if they are counted properly and invested sensibly.

The annual accounts give me enough info to re-assure me that there is no jiggery pokery going on* and I'm content that Leeann et al are savvy enough to run the club properly and imaginatively.

I'm not nosey about the numbers in any more detail, and if keeping them quiet stops other clubs getting a heads up then I'm fine with that too.

*That may not be 100% true. I can find my way around a balance sheet and I&E (I don't think I'm supposed to call them that anymore) but I rely on SlovSam and other clever buggers on here to back up my guesses. Or rubbish them.

I want to know the numbers to find out exactly if the club are investing in the squad or not. I felt last season the club short changed us in both transfer windows. The January window Lennon said he needed to strengthen still and the board didn't come through. With record season ticket numbers, bigger tv revenue and the money from Cummings being sold, I fully expect the club to spend some money. The board want fans to buy tickets, shares, stones etc. Fans should be entitled to know where the money is going. Really no reason the club can't invest the whole transfer fee on players. The wage bill will be lower than last season and the season before. Season ticket sales are up and we are now in the SPL. Let's spend some cash and build a good team going forward.

To be honest I'd take slightly less and stay with marathonbet than take a sponsor that doesn't engage with the fans.

Marathon have been great, they do outside the box, play on the pitch, free buses to morton, etc. Think we have one of the best sponsors around at the moment.

I agree, it's quite refreshing to see a sponsor engage with the fans so much

I don't like that our sponsor is a bookies, never mind from some other country none of us have been to! Sort of.

Out the box was originally an idea of a Hibs employee who moved to them ... and very well done to him.

Marathonbet have done more for the supporters than any other sponsor and while it's not affected me personally, I don't think, good on them.
