    Just think

Just think, without relegation we may still be watching Butcher's version of hoof ball, not have enjoyed a glorious 12 months as Scottish Cup holders with average crowds around 9000.

Butcher would have been out even if Hibs had avoided relegation.
Having to spend three years in the Championship has been a embarrassment IMO. An absolute disgrace that Hibs got themselves in to such a bad condition that relegation occurred. It was hugely avoidable in that last season but if the truth be told Hibs were heading for the drop for several seasons...way before Terry Butcher arrived. He was clearly the wrong appointment for sure especially coming as it did half way through the season, but the people in charge of running the football club deserve most of the criticism for allowing the football side of the club to be neglected so badly for so long.

Anyway it's all in the past now. Let's just look forward to hopefully a much more successful future.

    Yup!

Leeann was joining the club before we went into tailspin with Butcher.

With their visions of football and the future of the club polar opposites there was only going to be one outcome, even if we had stayed up.

I can sort of understand the way things played out in the second division but aye, an embarrassing time in our history made palatable with two cup finals and that cup win last year.

We move on now considerably stronger than we've been for yonks!

Okay so it was 3 years in Championship. But NOBODY can say it was a dark period in our club's history. It got better and better and now there's a real special feelgood factor about the place. Big crowds, decent squad, good manager and aye I'm sure there was something else... :-)

Butcher? $#@!ing halfwit. $#@! him. Hun prick.

Feel-good factor is the best I've known it. Actually worried I may not be able to get a ticket for ER for the times when I'm back in Edinburgh, such will the demand. Can see there being some sellouts!

I've a wee sneaky hunch we might see the season proper open with a derby at ER. The SPFL like a big curtain opener, we will definitely be at home, there is previous re this with the Edinburgh derby...

If that happens, there'll be queues I tell ya...
Hibs are standing on the brink of history...

    Good shout.

And what happens, more often than not, is that clubs supposedly skint and we've been down 3 years, are given lucrative home games to set them up for the season.

The gunts aren't able to play home games early doors and I suspect with full hospitality not available till the New Year their big games will be deferred.

Hope they don't screw around with our new year derby at ER! As it is definitely "our turn" to host it and it is a fixture I'd more than likely be back for. Agreed it wouldn't surprise me if the opening game is the derby.

We'd playing them without Gray and McGregor, sadly.

good point will definitely be an early derby at ER I think.

been two season openers at Tynie that I can remember in recent times, Agathe's miss in a 0-0 draw and Brian Kerr's winner on a Monday night in 2007 when we were charged £33.

an early home derby would enable a home New Year game against them
    until the sky turns green
