    Yer Dug's A Nazi

Some of you may have seen this. But if you haven't, here it is.

This guy conditions his girlfriends dog to appear anti Semitic. As a laugh.

    M8 Yer Dugs A Nazi - YouTube

However, now he's going to actual real life court, charged with hate crimes and faces up to a year in jail.

    Holy hairy $#@!.

Here's his update prior to court, next week...

    Its Time - YouTube

tough one - where to you draw the line?

training a dog as a joke versus training an alsatian to attack black folk...how can you tell the difference?

size of the dog? whether there is youtube involved?

You reckon? This was a pretty obvious joke, to me.

Whether you find it funny or not, it's not a hate crime.

I was meaning I pished myself at Kenny saying

"...but he has created a dog that does nazi salutes. and that's probably a crime..."

It's like a Monty Python sketch. Not even trying to be an arse to Kenny here. Just really tickled me.

Teaching the dog to respond to 'gas the Jews' stuff was unfunny in the extreme. The salute to 'Heil Hitler' was more amusing.

Quite clearly the vid was made in a humorous way - whether it appeals to your sense of humour or not is down to the individual.
    But a court case?

If offensive humour, or just attempted humour that isn't funny is a hate crime ...................................

I didn't think it was funny, mildly amusing at best. A "hate crime" ? Nah. Unless the video was being used as some sort of propaganda by hate group maybe. What's the guy's background, does he have form for this sort of thing ? Anyway, if it's still up on YouTube, must be harmless as they don't leave that sort of thing up there for long, right ?

What a waste of time and money prosecuting him. Not particularly funny but not a hate crime. I wish they would pursue the huns with the same vigour.

Amazing this guy is being prosecuted ahead of umpteen labour figures, numerous academics, and the odd showbiz bubble.

Except of course it's not amazing at all.

Nazi salute??? hardly. What i saw was a conditionally trained fat pug offering it's paw...hardly Pavlovs' dog stuff. The owner is a total cretin though even considering "gas the Jews" to be amusing and to think he would not be held accountable somewhere down the line.

Problem with $#@! like this is that it's accessible to other cretins too who fail to see it for what it is but instead consider it a valid re-enforcement of their already held anti semitic views.

    Cheers
I reckon that'll be what they argue in court. But I also think it's an extremely shan argument.

If nazi rockets want to see stuff that affirms their hate, they can go straight to a million seriously $#@!ed up resources rather than looking at $#@!e like this that's anti Semitic at $#@!in homeopathic levels.

    You omitted umpteen Tory figures

    Cheers
Had a google and could only find recent news of one offender - kicked out of the party (poor chap should have found a more accommodating home). So I'll amend this to include 'and one Tory figure'.

    Apologies for the omission.

The reality is that we should all be pretty worried about this type of thing.

Part of the argument put forward for busting Dankula was that context was irrelevant, so the fact that it was a joke didn’t matter… And the judge, incredibly, agreed. What that means is that anyone in this thread who references the video’s main soundbite, “gas the jews”, is potentially committing a crime merely by saying it.

    And that’s very worrying indeed.

We already have a deeply authoritarian government that has influenced the Metropolitan police to say things like this:

“If someone does something that isn’t a criminal offence but the victim, or anyone else, believes it was motivated by prejudice or hate, we would class this as a ‘hate incident’. Though what the perpetrator has done may not be against the law, their reasons for doing it are. This means it may be possible to charge them with an offence”.

On the back of Call-me-Dave Cameron’s… “For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens ‘as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone’”.

Well, yeah. I do expect the police to leave me alone if I’m obeying the law, funnily enough. And I certainly don’t expect to get busted for saying something that someone, somewhere, might find offensive, and then try and do me for. But that’s where we’re heading because, as Tom Walker has recently remarked, the law very often works in precedents. If we send one guy to jail because of a joke he posted on YouTube (one in which he ACTIVELY explains why he’s doing it), the rest of us need to start watching what we post, just in case.

Whether or not you found the gag funny, as I did, is irrelevant. A lad potentially faces jail because someone deliberately misunderstood his intent, and charged him with upsetting the Jewish community that didn’t make a complaint.

    1984 is on its way.

How long until a comedian gets gassed and cuffed for "offensive" remarks?

    Mmm, potentially not long.

And the sad part is that comedians are the ones who SHOULD be operating in the grey areas the rest of us don't like.

It is very concerning. People have lost their cotton picking minds over such trivial stuff that they go running to the authorities whining about how somebody said something they didn't like or disagreed with and they should be arrested. It's concerning on two fronts. First, what sort of person finds it appropriate to go running to the the authorities to report this. I think there are a lot of people that trawl the internet looking for offensive or disagreeable content for the purpose of virtue signaling. Second, why on earth do the authorities get involved when it is reported ? How did that conversation go ? "Hey, I want to report a crime. There's a youtube video that has a dog raising it's paw, like a Nazi salute when it's owner says "gas jews". I'm outraged." Shouldn't the response be, "Oh piss off". ? How did this reach the courts ? I maybe missed something.
