Absolutely gutted. Went to school with my dad in harthill and then Bonnyrigg. Was on the bus for my first hampden trip in 1985.

Absolute gentleman, and a very sad loss. Rip.

    Sad news...

Eric was before my time when I started being taken to Easter Road, but my dad and my uncles used to rave about him. Pat Stanton said in his book that he was the best winger he ever played alongside during his time with Hibs.

    RIP Eric

My memory tells me he was magic going up the old slope, my favourite Hibs player as a bairn, had loads of football cards round my wall with Eric pride of place. Jim O'Rourke reckoned he was a smashing player. Saddened. RIP. GGTTH.

He had the Waverley in bonnyrigg circa 1985.

Curiously I'm told dan mcmichaels son was a previous owner in the 1960s.

"Stevie" would have been the first number 11 I saw at Easter Road - back in the days when the number meant "outside left". He was a terror down that touchline and a real left winger - sad that he never became a Scotland regular. Ironic that I have just come back from Edinburgh yesterday from my cousin's funeral who had stomach cancer too. RIP Eric.
