Had a good eye for goal but think his injuries left him struggling for a starting place. Heard he is not the cleverest chap when he is out injured also. Good luck to him though.

Championship is his level as other clubs knew before Hibs, thank him for his services, but we need better if were challenging top half of the league next season.

Wish him all the best, had some great moments but his problem seems to be he is inconsistent.

He would have been a decent squad player but I reckon he has been told that's all he will be, hence the switch.

Like others have said, best of luck to the lad. Hope he gets the regular start he clearly craves.

never scores a rubbish goal... but was either awesome or anonymous with little or no consistency.

Scored that vital, vital goal v Falkirk in what I viewed as one of 4 pivotal wins that secured us the championship, and of course a cup-winning legend, and the last Hibs player to score a hat-trick. Would've probably kept him as an impact sub but goes with my best wishes, especially if it's to the arabs.

I'm hoping this means he's been told he'll be down the pecking order, which may mean one or both of the following:

    a) Cummings has indicated a willingness to stay on.
    b) We already have better on the radar.

Best wishes to the lad, though. Liked him, and has made a real contribution in his time here.

    Thanks for your contribution James.
I enjoyed your goals, and I’m sure you enjoyed the Championship and Scottish Cup medals.
Still a bit puzzled by that tattoo though.

Good luck to him he's definitely got talent but doesn't show it enough
Good chance he could win the championship with four different sides in four year's which is some doing and suggests he's a good championship level payer

Don't blame him, wants regular first team football and he wouldn't get that here! Scored some good and vital goals for us and will always be remembered for being part of that team in may!

Loved his solo run after Sir Davids Scottish cup winning goal against that new team, The Rangers. Watched him score a wonderful hat trick against StMirren in paisley and already mentioned that fabulous winning goal against the bairns, crucial goal. Wish him nothing but the best, thank you James. Best outcome IMHO; leaves with legend status intact, and having helped us at a crucial moment vs Falkirk. But simply not consistent enough to be what we need next term and I'm glad he got a move to a credible club before the relationship became awkward for both him and us.

I hope United come up anyway, and this is now an additional reason to hope so.

One thing we will miss is his banter and jokage in the dressing room. The squad does have plenty radges but Keats was yin o' the top boys when it came to the laughs and the raising o' the spirits.

James Keatings leaves as a Hibernian legend and will always be remembered as being a part of that never to be forgotten Scottish Cup winning squad. He scored some fine and important goals for us in the last three years, none more so than that last minute winner against Falkirk recently. I think Keats is a decent player. He has a great left foot and he was one of the few players we had who could deliver a decent ball in from a set-piece...just ask Efe Ambrose. A 100% player and a good striker who I think will do well at Dundee United.

Thanks for all your efforts Keats and the goals. You played a good part in our Championship winning season.

    Best of luck at United.

    Spot on.

The boy was definitely a "beefy" in the team.

Keats, Squirrel, Jason.......... these guys did a fantastic 'off the field' job in raising morale and spirit amongst the lads.

Having 'good guys' is sometimes under rated I think.

That's a shocker Davy - coupled with Celtic being interested in Pat McGinlay it's been a bad day right enough 😁

    Spot on.

The boy was definitely a "beefy" in the team.

Keats, Squirrel, Jason.......... these guys did a fantastic 'off the field' job in raising morale and spirit amongst the lads.

Having 'good guys' is sometimes under rated I think.
What a nice thing to say sir

    I'm quite touched......stop it!..

Can't see United getting through 6 playoff games. Hopefully Keats gets them up next season.

I wonder if any player has ever achieved x3 consecutive Championship winners medals? Could be 4 next season. Surely a unique record?

When Hertz let Keats go that season they had Zeeifuk on 12 goals in 15. Sow on 12 in 26. Oliver with 2 in 12.El Hassnoui WhoTF? scored 4 goals 19. Keats got 11 in 33.

    They let him go.

    Following season without Keats...

Outside Sow (who never managed to score against Hibs and hand on heart was $#@!e never mind the bumf) they've had Dauda, Reilly, Zannatta, Currie, Johnsen, Sammon, Watt. Absolute $#@!e strikers. Half on loan too. Can't be bothered to tally up the goals amongst them but I think it's fair to say it's less than..dunno? im plucking figures oot the air......och nae mare than 5 each for the last 2 seasons.

    Exactly innit?

No bother..bit unlucky to play in three promotion campaigns and not go on to top league, assuming Dundee Utd don't go up.

That would be the three - Hamilton, Gunts and the Cabbage. Hamilton didn't win the title, of course

It's funny how most of us are saying similar things to what Hearts fans said when he left them; a good player at this level, made a worthwhile contribution, and goes with our best wishes.

Me? I think we've potentially missed a trick. I think his inconsistency was down to some baffling positional decisions that were made for him, and a proper run in the team up front (minus injuries, of course) would have seen a much better return. He goes with my best wishes, though, and I'm glad he's joined a decent club. Fair play to him.
