We were wondering why Holt wisnae taking it. Keatings was way off the pace yesterday.
Holt scored a couple of penalties earlier in the season then missed one against St Mirren I think and not taken one since..

    In Squirrels defence.

I'm not sure he's comfortable running on to balls and if you look at our general passing in front of a player you can see why, it's generally not very good!

So he stands still on the touchline giving himself a yard on the defender.

He cuts inside he's generally poor. Fly down the wing and more often than not he gets his cross in. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good.

There were folk around me yesterday screaming at him to go down the channel, rather than the wing, ignoring the fact that Keats was already there waiting.

Is SDG carrying an injury? I thought he looked right out of sorts and when 10 men couldnae carry skinned him at walking pace I thought what the ....! Then he went off.

I don't think Hibs players play well with beards.

I think it was aggie that asked why can't we play like the last 20 minutes at the start of the game. We really need to knock $#@! out of teams before they settle down and gain confidence. Yesterday the first half was tippy tappy $#@!e at it's worst.

Aye I know, still think he should be taking them when JC isnae playing. Not got the stats but if we've had any pens since St Mirren game JC has probs been on the park. Keatings pen was $#@!e as well. I've praised him earlier in the season for his dead ball kicking ability, yesterday he seemed tae have some other ****s legs.

West upper, 3 rows from the back, I said pen right away, ball (I think) was out the box player just inside.
I am on the 18 yard line, three rows from the back of the west lower, from my seat both the ball and players were outside the box. Indeed the big divot that came up with the challenge was still there until half time when it was stamped down, it was outside the box too.

Excellent OP as usual. Totally agree that Bartlay shouldn't be playing at home v Dumbarton. The difference Dylan made when on was there for all to see. Boyle frustrates me as I think using his pace he can get beyond the full back and deliver a ball but appears at times unconfident in doing so. Keatings was and is unfortunately lightweight. Holt works but truth be told he's finished with no goals left in the tank. What really frustrates me is that there's just not enough goals in this Hibs team. FFS I think we've only scored 7 more goals all season than our part time opponents yesterday.

The Dumbarton player appears to have his left leg firmly planted in the box when the defender made contact.

Exactly. And it's a $#@!in joke that it hasn't been addressed. Without the goals from Cummings we'd be in the position of St Mirren.

Not splitting hairs or being smart and genuinely interested but he played for three times that duration on his very first appearance back? If this were correct, and I'm not denying your info, surely they'd have not given him so long on his initial run out. I just really can't see any professional football club persisting in any way with a player with a diagnosis that says for certain that they can only play for ten minutes.
Info came from Carmichael who went for his operation at same time DM. Now he may play more than 10 mins I grant that but his long term fitness as we all know is questionable. I hope he overcomes his issues and can contribute in someway but long term I see him being moved on.

Fair enough mate, thanks. The way things have been it's hard to imagine a happy ending.

The only thing is I can't see him being able to move on anywhere with the current prognosis. Reflecting on his injury woes, no club is going to make a significant outlay for such a player. They wouldn't want him for precisely the reasons that Hibs would want to unload him. Sad stuff and such a good young player. Wish him well.

Pretty conclusive but it was tight so you can understand why people at the game thought it was outside

Most definitely you can. It was very close but upon later evidence the correct decision for me.

Could argue all day if it was a pen or no, end of the day Bartley made a needless challenge which made the ref make a decision, blame lies with Bartley on this one no one else IMO a player that should never have been in the starting line up...if mcgeouch isn't fit I'd rather have Martin in the midfield at home to Dumbarton than bartley

Go to disagree mate, ball outside, player and initial contact inside, divot a result of the follow through outside. One thing that most do agree on is that the tackle didnt need to be made.

We can all see that we don't need a protective player at home when teams sit in - a bit like Lennon's interview - 'I'm not surprised that it continues but there's no sign of anyone taking it on board'.

Walk the talk Lennon and stop blaming everyone else!
