IF We Beat Aberdeen & Reach The SC Final...

Then if it's Celtc we are to face I hope it isn't automatically assumed which end we are to go into at Hampden.

I HATE this assumption of traditional Celtc and was Rangers ends.

The final is played at a NEUTRAL venue.

agreed makes a mockery of the national stadium (its not the best to begin with)

for geographical reason i can understand why those teams are naturally given those ends but moves to name them neutrally should be made.

We always get the east end unless we play Celtic

Exactly and that's a nonsense. Celtc shouldn't have their own permanent end.

Hope we're in the West end whilst playing Rangers. Two different perspectives of winning it.

geographically it would be far harder to put celtic in the other end... just for the sake of it.

does the same thing happen at wembley for london clubs?

I was in the corner of the East for that yin. In fairness we had the majority of the stadium.

...ok i dont agree they should have their own end...BUT they will be on foot and using local transport.

hibs have been moving more in coachs and trains.

FWIW i think, should we get there, then a request for East End of the stadium should be lodged...just to noise them up

no i meant it - celtic park is 3.5m from hampden.

to get to the other side from the celtic pubs and clubs involves going to the other (west side) its not as easy as it should be.

Hibs coming further from the east... if that's the reason then it's bollocks. The truth is the cosy wee arrangement with the SFA because the truth is Celtc and were Rangers are the SFA establishment.

Happy for Aberdeen to travel three hours for a 1215 kick off etc etc...

IF we get to the final no end should be assumed and I hope Leeann makes that clear to the SFA

    Sorry I don't get that.

Getting to the east end of hampden makes sense for us with placement of m8 exits (though tbf im much more familiar with that route). Celtic fans don't all live in cp in fact it's surrounded by Hun dens so even if inconvenience for the poor dears was the question, I'm not sure it applies.

not really enjoying this - they have their end for geographical reasons....possibly historic and no longer applicable.

the national stadium is a joke.

the west end has better trains and access to the M8, IMO... something celtic fans have often moaned about (SFA stitch up ironically) ... (less so with the new extension 2012) ...

if it was only ever geographical reasons from SFA, why cover only one end when it was a bigger dump than it is today?

the conspiracy theorists would say the SFA favoured one over the other? Mibbaes aye, mibbaes naw?

I remember hearing about the huns paying something towards the roof but Celtc wouldn't.

I suppose celtc refused for hygiene reasons.

I think we had the West for the final against the gunts. I've blotted so much of that day from my mind that I am far from certain.

Its a good problem to have... having to worry about which end we have to traipse to... meanwhile our gunt friends will, again, still be in their scratchers and worrying about $#@!ting their beds. Just a bunch of manky $#@!s.

All three trophies that I've seen lifted have been from almost the same spot.

thought we had it for the ayr semi in 02? think i was wrong...
Weren't both ends closed that brutal night? I seem to recall parking in the asda or Safeway car park and wandering around the stadium trying to find the entrance. Missed about the first 15 minutes. Would have preferred to miss the entire 120!!!

Terrible Hibs performance on a freezing cold night...poor attendance.
This was the game that sealed Franck Sauzee's fate as Hibs manager.

Normally, but I can think of being in the west for games v livingston and Dundee United. Maybe Ayr too?

    Hate the west right enough!

Interesting that today over on dot net someone has posted a similar OP and someone responding is saying that in the official Hampden tour the person points out the 'Rangers end' and the 'Celtic end'.

    Unbelievable but sadly not...

Again, IF we get through v Celtc we must challenge this bollocks.

East? West? Sir David Gray end is best. Feck the old firm and the GFA. Same seats for the Dons game as we sat at that epic final, tears for souvenirs.

This might or might not be interesting in relation to the Wembley fa cup semi final allocations

    .........

Following a coin toss, Chelsea fans will occupy the west end of Wembley Stadium whilst Tottenham Hotspur will be in the east end.
In Sunday’s semi-final, with the majority of Arsenal fans set to use public transport they have been allocated the east end with Manchester City in the west, to allow quickest possible access for onward travel.

It's not been called the Celtc end for yonks but ya know what side to go to when you get there. The Hibs end seeing as we have been there so often in the last few years.

Do ya know we have been there 13 times since we won the LC in 2007? (Hampden I mean, before smarties)

During my Hibs supporting life there has been 32 games at Hampden for the Hibees (League Cup/Scottish Cup obvs).

I reckon at least 2 outa them were in the wrong end?

The zombies gave the SFA dosh to pay for a roof and the smellies spent their time in the rain. As the story goes?

    $#@!thum!

    Edit; Forgot the best!

One hun explained it over the years cos.... Back in the day when Hampden used to a have ;Queens Park Football Club' on the old Main Stand it meant "Queen's People" to that side and "Fenian Cantz" to the other side. How sad is that?? not that long ago too. Watch oot! Peeps like that are STILL amongst us. Choobs & Fuds! Nothing else to say man...

I know when I did the hampden tour that it was suggested that Celtic always got the away dressing room and rangers/the rangers got the home one.

Anyone know if that is still the case?

geographically it would be far harder to put celtic in the other end... just for the sake of it.

does the same thing happen at wembley for london clubs?
See post above - they toss for it.

IF We Beat Aberdeen & Reach The SC Final...

It would seem to make sense that the fans travelling furthest should be prioritised?

I know some people aren't of this mind, but it sounds like the kind of thing that might be worth pursuing through foi to police Scotland seeing as they must be involved in arrangements?

Sheep just got horsed 3 zip by the Huns in their own stadium. I'm feeling better about our chances in the semi final now.
Maybe it's the opposition who'll be getting labelled 'bottle merchants' for a pleasant change.
    Game's rigged, why bother?

I wish I was feeling better! The score did not reflect the game. To be honest, I can live with a defeat by Aberdeen. My worry would be the team's reaction if we were humiliated, if promotion is not 'sorted'.

Didn't catch all the game but my thoughts are that the Sheep isn't a game for a target man and us launching balls. It's a game for pace and skill up front. And we need to press them from the front...

I would be feeling much better if we had secured promotion officially before the semi, but to be honest if Hibs win on Saturday against Queen of the South that will more or less be it even if the other results do not go our way.

I also could live with a defeat in the semi as to be honest the SC is not the priority this season, but if the league was secured we could just give it a massive effort at Hampden and hope for the best. We should do that anyway even if the league is not secured. Aberdeen are a very good side and we are definitely the underdogs but we can beat them and the players have to believe this. The Dons have a poor recent record at Hampden....certainly not as good as ours that's for sure. They have a tendency to flop on the big stage. Clutching at straws I know but Hibs have saved their best performances in recent years for these sort of games and if we get in front we have a chance. Stopping their excellent wide men McGinn and Hayes is the key to stopping Aberdeen.
