The Original Hibernians v Dundee Hibernians

So, we have sold over 2300 tickets for Tannadice for a Friday night game live on the tellybox, not bad turnout to be honest. Much more the last time, so hope there is a gate for walk ups?

So, what to expect? I don't know myself, various reports from Arab pals suggest they are not very good, others say they have improved. They were lucky to beat us up there last time and I will go far as to say, we win tomorrow night, we will win the league. A draw, I will be comfortable with, we lose, expect rubber sheets to come out of bottom drawers all over East central Scotland and beyond.

Little info leaks out of the Holy Ground these days, more so I dinnae read the papers often, but I expect a tough encounter, with Daz back, Efe beside him, Captain Dave and Lewis at the back, Big Marv, McGinn, Shinnie and Boyle, with Holt and Jase up front.

Tough, yes, noisy, well lets make it so, nae drums allowed says Dundee United who are living in the times of Oor Wullie and the Broons, bang the seats, the hoardings, the cladding, and anything else. Lets do this Hibs, we can, we will, we are.........

    Hibernian FC!

Looking forward to it. I feel quite positive about the challenge that faces us. We are the better team lets go out and prove it.

Got a feeling we'll turn around the last few league results with a good away win, I think we've 3 home games on the bounce after that, win them and it's up to the SPL we go.

United haven't lost at home all season, and to be honest this is the last chance saloon for them in terms of a league title challenge. They have to win and for that reason I expect a very difficult encounter tomorrow night. Our league form has been poor since Commons left to be honest. Hibs are still a better team than Dundee United though and we will have gained some confidence after despatching Ayr out the Scottish Cup last Saturday. A win would be fantastic and put us in a very strong position with several home games to come very quickly, a draw would be a decent result with games fast running out. A defeat would still leave us top but with no more room for error in the run in. Really hope it doesn't come to that and we can make life a whole lot easier for ourselves with three points tomorrow. I think a draw is likely, but I am going for narrow 1-0 win for Hibs.

So annoying we can't take the drum the atmosphere would've been fantastic!
I am so nervous it's on real but we must win this game in my opinion. Yes a draw would suit us but I think that gives them confidence if we can win this game I really think it's over
The reason I think we will win tonight is because we seem to turn up for the big games and this is a massive game!! CIOME ON HIBS!!!

It's a big game, under the lights, on the tellebox, United need the win so they will come at us and leave themselves open... our lads love all that stuff. I expect us to turn it on tonight 4-1 Hibs.

Pretty confident going into this. I think we will dominate, as ever the challenge will be to score goals. United have to come at us and that will help our cause. I know we got caught on the hop when the pars and St Mirren did so but we'll be expecting it tonight.

They'll go for it I think, and probably start ferociously fast. But we'll be well up for it and if it's level - or even better, we are ahead - after 30 minutes I think we'll come out on top. I'd like to see us try to gradually dominate the game as we did at ER.
    so what do I know

If they try to come out the blocks at us, it will play right into our hands.

I think they would be mad to do that, we are awful at breaking down teams that sit in. They should have learned that lesson from the last game against us and our performance against Hearts etc.

Hibs should go into this game with the same plan we went to Tynecastle with, defend and let them come at us then break quickly.

A draw is ok, a win is great. Exact same strategy as the trip to Hearts please.

It'll be a tight game, our form isn't great in the league, I reckon 1-1.

I cant wait for this and the night out after the game
IMO big Marvin is the reason we will win as he tends to dominate in the really big games and I fancy Holt for a goal too

Yeah totally agree, he always turns it on for the bigger ones. Hibs should play all their matches in the dark and buy some prop telly cameras and set them up for every game
    so what do I know

I don't think they'll have a go. I expect them to play it tight. I've no idea how this will go as I've no idea what Hibs will turn up.

I think they will come out and attack to an extent. McKinnon is a footballing man and one thing he will have looked at, when teams attack Hibs they generally come away with something. We've drawn and lost gmaes too much this season from teams having a good go at us from the offset, then when teams park the bus and have a very rare attack they seem to pop up with a goal.

A lot of this IMO is down to other teams stiffling Hibs midfield out of the game anyway possible. We need our midfield to be full of generals tonight and own Tannadice. GGTTH

Have to win for me. Whilst a draw will keep DU off the coat tails, another 2 points dropped will give extra belief and incentive to Houston's lot that they can catch us.

Will we? No idea because I've no idea which Hibs will turn up.

They're unbeaten at home this season and I actually thought they deserved to beat us up there last time. We were dreadful.

We have better players but we have so many injuries and I'm convinced the players have downed tools in the league and only interested in the cup games now. We might get a draw if they're as bad as their fans say.

Totally. This is a fcukin joke.

Who are we gonnae put in the middle of the park? Because sure as $#@!, as per, McGeouch will not be able to do any of the footballing stuff. With McGinn, Fyvie, and Bartley out too, I'm struggling to name a midfield.

5 at the back has to be a certainty now.

    Rocky
    SDG/Forster/Daz/Efe/Lewis
    Shinnie/Martin/Keatings?
    Jase/Holt

I dunno. What the fcuk have they been doing at East Mains?

A few people saying Sky might have Decembers information, and isn't up to date.

Didn't someone ask Leeann about Liam after the 3-0 home win over them only to be told "what ? After that?" ?

Biting her on the backside now isn't it??
Yes. It was me. "Do we need him?". I was asked.

I lost a lot of love for her after that reply.

Biggest game of the season. A win for us will burst that bubble. A loss and they will have there tails up.

I don't see why - at that point, and assuming the squad was not gonna be ravaged by injuries, I think that's a fair question. Certainly at the very least debatable.

Whilst a draw will keep DU off the coat tails, another 2 points dropped will give extra belief and incentive to Houston's lot that they can catch us.
Nah, I don't think so. They've left themselves a bit too much to do, and won't go on a winning run that'll extend enough beyond ours. They're $#@!e, at the end of the day.

Win tonight, and that's the job largely done in my view. It'll knock the stuffing out of the other sides who, don't forget, will still all have to beat Hibs - and they won't. Lose tonight, however... Well, suddenly it gets very tight at the top and other teams will smell blood.

United have managed one win in the last seven games; they're not in form, so there's no reason to fear them assuming we can make an impact in front of goal. They also score less than we do so, if it's tight, we should probably sneak it if there's going to be a winner.

2-0 to the cabbage, I reckon, which might end up flattering us a little.

Mmm, game needs more general quality but we're largely in charge of it.

Referee likes a yellow card, hopefully he doesn't try to even up that red.
