    Singing Section Move

Is moving to the FF upper a good idea? I think that's a bad move.

Is this definitely happening? I've seen a post on Facebook about it but nothing else yet.

Got to be honest, it's not the first place I'd put them in the ground, but if other fans get behind it and we fill a block then why not. Noise will hit the roof better too in the upper. Maybe the Since1875 guys on here can confirm?

yes that's where I seen it, unfortunately most who join in with singing in the east are unlikely to move so unless they have a army ready to move into FF upper section it could be even more silent at games, hope in wrong as the guys do a great job.

I'm moving closer to Edinburgh in a few months so will be buying my first ever season ticket. If this is all confirmed I'll probably get mine up there, the more the merrier.

    - - - Updated - - -

Just read on .net that it is happening. Apparently a joint statement between Hibs and Since1875 coming next week. Section 25 of the Famous Five upper apparently. Hope there's a big uptake!

Section 25? That's right in the back corner. No sure about that. Better than the current spot, nonetheless.

We can always box them in if there's any more Celtc songs adopted by them.

A good thing if it get's another stand involved in the singing?

My family group have been in the East near the gantry for years and we like the side on view, the rake and the big game atmosphere so. We'll be singing where we've always sung but I applaud the young team for moving from the front of the East where they couldn't be heard to a new home.

It's something which is never going to please everyone. A quick look at the letter sent out by the club says that only 30 odd season ticket holders will be directly affected by this (ie asked to move seats) and another 60 or so in front and behind the new 'section' which will be indirectly affected (ie don't have to move but may wish to as a result of the change).

Those fans have been contacted before season ticket information for next year is released and have been offered first dibs on different seats and £20 off the price of their ticket if they move.

Good on the club for speaking to fans and doing something about it. As with anything like this not everyone will be happy but it seems they've done a fair bit of work to minimise the inconvenience. And good on the Since 1875 lads and lassies for driving change with the club

She could have held that meeting in a telephone box due to the small number impacted. They can stay put or move nearby so don't see an issue.

Credit to Hibs for getting this done and hopefully there's others willing to join and improve things.

There are plenty examples of away sections in upper tiers and livelier sections of home fans being located there. It's up to the fans to generate the noise rather than the stadium.

Everyone's words of support are helping me thru this. I appreciate every comment, prayer and positive thought.

Guys and girls I can't emphasise how much your words are encouraging and helping me. This battle has barely started but I know you'll be by my side every step of the way - it's giving me great strength - Shaun 16/03/2016

Personally think it's essential this does get moved so we can still create a bit of an atmosphere even during the most mundane games which with their current location just doesn't happen as they can't be heard! The moves never gonna keep everyone happy but as long as the club handle and go about this the right way there can't be much complaints

For a family stand it has some of the moanyiest feckers in it, no doubt there will be some complaints, will take a bit getting used too.

I was just thinking about that, I wonder if they will have to relocate the family section as they won't be happy with people standing, singing, swearing etc

I heard that they are intending to lease both floors to the NHS, health hub or something. i was also told that they are going to build a new supporters bar, not sure where they are moving it to, i would think that it would be in the concourse of the east stand,i think if they are going to the trouble of building a new location then what about the space thats being used as a car park for the press etc. if i remember there were pics showing that area had building on that corner.

They can barely be heard further up section 43 never mind around the rest of the ground so when they start no one really joins in apart from big games when more people have been drinking and feeling up for a wee song

Good luck with it. If it's what you boys have asked for and Hibs have been receptive, all good I think
