Hibs don't have a particularly good record at Starks park and with Hanlon, Forster and possibly Fontaine missing we are very much stretched at the back. This game (for me anyway) is far more important than Wednesday cup derby replay and I really hope we can pick up another three points which would be a massive step forward in our league title campaign. Hope our players have their shooting boots on and we defend as well as we have been this season. Hughes will have his team ready and motivated...we have to be the same.

    2-1 Hibs.

Still think we can get a tune out of him 2 or 3 times during the run in. If we get it done Wednesday the fixtures will start to pile up so he'll get a chance anyway.

There would only be another 2 before the league season ends. Unless we draw against Ayr.

3 points so important today. Almost to the extent I would take them ahead of a result on Wednesday - which I wouldn't have said last season. Almost.

Today's result is just as important as Wednesday. Anyone who reckons getting put out the cup by the Gunts obviously doesn't have to go to work the next day and face the smug $#@!s

    Pish.

It's been a poor game with neither keeper had much to do.

    1-1 full time.
Our chronic lack of goalscorers outside of Jason Cummings strikes yet again.
Assuming we do go up...not yet a certainty by any means IMO...this lack of goals problem has to be properly addressed in the close season by Lennon as a matter of urgency. If we are struggling to get goals in this league it will be a damn site harder in the top league with or without Cummings..

Horrid game of football. Neither team deserved to win. The referee was also honking.
    Its Liam Henderson to deliver...
And David Gray has scored! The captain!
Hibs are standing on the brink of history!

i actually don't think it will be as hard. I think one of our key problems is we have never successfully adapted to parked buses, even more than half way through our third season of it.

Cup runs and games against sevco and Dundee united who attack us bear this out i think.

This doesn't take away from the point though; we are dreadful at scoring goals and if we fail to go up it will be because our stingey defence isn't watertight enough to secure wins when we can only score once a game.

Expected today's result, it's a place we tend to struggle to get wins at, this league isn't over yet!

Seems the manager is raging, following his post-match interview; as well he might be. Once again we got ourselves a good lead in the title race, and we're frivolously shedding points when we should be wrapping things up.

It seems our lot this year is to limp over the line, while hoping Jason Cummings will keep scoring enough times to pick up the requisite number of points.

Bit depressing to see Dundee United winning by three before half-time. The next trip to Tannadice could be unbelievably important.

Pathetic summer window then again in January comes back to bite. Criminal not signing a goalscorer to help and assist Cummings.

It's good news United are winning - it's not a league game and another distraction for them:
Lennon isn't as angry as me. I had a tenner on Hibs.

Fair shout. I was looking at it from the "they're playing themselves into form" angle, but part of our problem last year was fixtures stacking up when Falkirk could just concentrate on us.

Aye, just listening to the radio, Lennon apparently went right through the players and questioned their attitude. Be interested to see if @1875's Just Back reflects that.

I'm also in this school of thought. Sides like Dundee, Hamilton and Kilmarnock will not be planning to park the bus at home to Hibs next season. We also need better recruitment over the summer and to shift some of the absolute deadwood in this team.

This is what concerns me as much as anything. Up until the draw was made pitching us against Hearts of all teams, we have been able to focus on one thing only...winning the league. Now our focus has been split between that and overcoming our city rivals in the cup and as a consequence results start to suffer in the league as they did exactly a year ago when again we had two or three objectives instead of one. No matter the outcome on Wednesday we have to quickly re-focus and get this league won as soon as possible.

    But not his fault obviously
I get the feeling he definitely wanted Stokes in and going by his comments a couple of days before the window he expected at least one new face in on the last day of the window. Nothing materialised and we got a story from the club saying they had ran out of time to get the Stokes deal done. That made Lennon look a bit stupid when he had made it public that he was expecting to strengthen the squad yet nothing got over the line. We haven't even been able to bring in short term cover for Paul Hanlon.
