    Hustings tomorrow night new details

Nice to get some detail....I share it with amigos......

    Fellow fans,

I am up for election along with 7 others for one of the Fan director positions . Here are details of a hustings organised at the Hibs club for tomorrow night . I hope you can make it along but if not I hope you will take a look at my statement on the Club site.

“ We have a date confirmed for the hustings event – Tuesday 31 January. Thanks to everyone for feeding in their availability.

The event will take place at the Hibs Club, 11 Sunnyside, Edinburgh EH7 5RA, starting at 7pm for approximately 2 hours. We would ask that you arrive by 6.15pm for a pre-event briefing.

The format will consist of the following:

Each candidate will be given a maximum of 6 minutes in total on stage to address the supporters, answering the following two questions:

o “Why should I be a supporter representative non-executive director?”

o “What are your proposals for communicating with supporters, both receiving information from supporters and feeding back to supporters?”

    · Depending on the turn-out from supporters we may invite questions on stage, or then break from the formal session to allow supporters to talk individually to yourselves. We would encourage you to take that opportunity to mingle with supporters and make yourself available to answer any questions they have.

The session will be chaired by Bruce Langham, who you all have met previously. We hope to stream the event through the Club’s Facebook page to allow us to reach a wider audience. “

    GGTTH !

Cllr. Gordon Munro - Leith Ward - Labour

    BIG G

Everyone's words of support are helping me thru this. I appreciate every comment, prayer and positive thought.

Guys and girls I can't emphasise how much your words are encouraging and helping me. This battle has barely started but I know you'll be by my side every step of the way - it's giving me great strength - Shaun 16/03/2016

    King Paddy was terrible.
The only votes he will get will be from folk who don't watch that video.

Thought his speech was good spoke like a fitba fan unlike others who tried to be too corporate. Not sure who asked first question to him but was very disrespectful. Looked like hatchet job

I thought he was needlessly aggressive and seemed to be applying for the managers job rather than a Fan Rep.
    I was cringing.

The whole gig is available on Facebook.
    Hardly inspiring to be honest.
The two Hibs wimmin came across the best I thought, Amit not bad either.
The fella in the Persevered shirt was playing Candy Crush during all the other presentations.

Agree his speech was ok but he got too prickly with the questions which he cannot afford to do if he wants to be fans rep. The first question was a wee bit out of order IMHO

Do you go to games was the second question. First was along the lines of why is a legend standing - did someone push you from the back.

Both daft questions, but if Paddy gets het up by these, wait until he has to answer to all the fans......

Pat has to be treated the same as the others, for this 'role' his past doesn't really offer much. He shouldn't be standing in my opinion, it's the wrong role. I wonder who had the idea for him to stand.

I'm with EGB on this one. Many anti-Zionists point out that sometimes particularly harsh criticism of Israel goes further than disagreement with policies, but rather denies the right of the Jewish state to exist.

Caught up with this on the recording. The questions asked of Pat were stupid. I think he was taken aback and became very defensive as a result. It was very uncomfortable viewing to be honest.

I think the problem with the role is that on two of the most pressing issues to supporters...the fans treatment at Ibrox and the scrapping of loyalty points...the majority of fans views were presented to the Board and were ignored. The positions seem almost ceremonial to me..and that's not to disrespect the work Amit and Frank did in representing Hibs and engaging with supporters face to face.

It should be an embarrassment to Hibs in this day and age you've got supporters queuing overnight to get tickets for a game. It's totally needless and those tickets should be going to our most loyal supporters who go home and away every week. Why we threw the baby out with the bath water with the scrapping of loyalty points I don't know. It seemed a series of bad decisions in allocating points caused more problems than anything else. Very poor.

The Board seem to be using the role to represent what they are going to do regardless and then leave the reps to get on with explaining. It should be more of a two way street..I just don't see the point if it's not personally.

Yep it does look like the board might view the fans reps as some form of buffer zone, who's main purpose is to absorb some of the flak that might come their way. Does seem a 1 way street in terms of the flow of information / ideas too

With regards to the Ibrox situation. This was brought up at a "meet the fans reps" meeting in September and we were told that the club had been in contact with the Huns regarding what happened/what always happens when we go there. They were looking into other places to situate the fans and dialogue was open between the 2 clubs. Then the 21st of May happened and all resources were diverted to dealing with the "exuberance" on the pitch and Ibrox situation put on a back burner.

Don't shoot the messenger, I'm only reiterating what Frank and Amit said. In my opinion the club hasn't followed up on this because there simply isn't a need to at the moment as the chances of us playing the Huns are fairly slim, apart from a cup game. That doesn't make it right of course.

Our CX dealt with the question at the AGM.

I think I posted here at the time that her response (similar to the above) was disappointing in the extreme.

On the basis of the footage and her posts on here I've decided to give one vote to Charlene and the other either Pat Stanton (probably just because I love the man and having spoken to him many times respect him though being honest I'm not so sure this role on the board is right) or the other impressive female Tracey (who at least understands the role isn't the ability to know/spot a player).

I will be giving one of my votes to Frank, the other I am opened minded about.

Do you go to games was the second question. First was along the lines of why is a legend standing - did someone push you from the back.

Both daft questions, but if Paddy gets het up by these, wait until he has to answer to all the fans......
Apologies, I only seen a couple of posts before they shut up shop.

No bother – neither question was that hard to field to be honest. At worst a ‘bit cheeky’ maybe, but King Paddy’s reaction was completely OTT

I wonder if the question was asked hoping tae get a reaction. A pal of another candidate mibbe?
Sir Pat shouldnae be in for this anyways, Hibs should make him an honorary director or summat.
FWIW I think FD and AM have done a decent job, made easier , i think, with the cup win.

what was that lad up to with his mobile phone during the event..

mind you don't know why there were all sitting in a line like that could have just been called up one at a time.

on the basis it would be better for everyone if this initiative worked I will use my votes with Frank and Tracy the likely recipients

I cant say I am any the wiser as to what Stanton thinks he can bring to the role. He patently doesnt understand what it entails and has neither the temperament or modern IT skills required. Easily the worst candidate on show.

Reminds me a lot of Scottish politics in the 1970's and 1980's where a monkey in a red rosette would get the vote "cos its just whit ye dae". Thankfully people are far more discerning these days across the spectrum.

Tracey and Charlene came across well and represent fresh change,Amit is very solid though all the rest were rather anonymous though Big Frank has proved that actions speak louder than words.

Leanne should put her heid above the parapet now and again on one of these things and have a wee chat about ticket arrangements and loyalty points and how all these nice lunches with her counterpart at "Scotlands Shame 2012" went.

I caught a video of Pat fielding the first two questions asked of him and was not a little saddened. This man is revered by me and many thousands of others - a total hero and i hated seeing him compromised in this way, even if his replies were somewhat inappropriate.

For me, after being slightly angered at the tone and content of the first question he allowed this to impact on the way he answered the second one as he was clearly still upset and a little flustered. Due to this he did not address the second question appropriately

Initially, I was 100 per cent behind his having one of the positions but after consideration, I think he is much better than to descend into one of these jobs that appears to hold little respect from anyone much. Good luck to the other no doubt sincere candidates for the positions Pat Stanton though should be honorary club President and ambassador - absolutely nothing less.

Anyone can learn to use Facebook and Twitter. There can only ever be one Pat Stanton.

Hibs are standing on the brink of history...
They've only gone and done it..

    Hi all,

We got some more information on the voting process tonight.

Voting will be open from 6th Feb to 6th March. Each eligible voter will get two votes.

Any fan who has a client reference number will be able to vote.

The recording of tonight's session will be live for 24-48 hours, but after this there will be youtube videos from the candidates which you'll be able to view.

    Cheers,

I'm glad Pat Stanton has withdrawn from this. The idea of a club legend like that having to stand for election to be a supporters rep on the board is frankly a disgrace. Stanton should be given life presidency position as befits his status.

I sincerely hope this has been put to him to encourage him to step aside from this process but I've no confidence in the board that they will have.

our greatest ever captain, revered player, ex manager and direct descendant of Michael Whelahan being questioned about his Hibs credentials the other night certainly made for awkward viewing.
