    1982-3

Was just looking at some games I had been to when I was younger and what dates they were, anyway I came across this seasons stats, seems every year is on wiki. Anyhow I know rangers didnt have great league crowds in the 80's but looking here shows what a bad period for Scottish football it was altogether in terms of crowds, with only decent crowds at Home for Hibs against Celtic at Parkhead was also ill attended, but to prove success is the key to crowds, Aberdeen at home is two of the best attended games.

The slump in attendances mid 70's to early 80's is remarkable.

sorry, thought I had posted it...you can find pretty much any season by simply putting in the team name and year eg Hibernian season 1978 on search engine

    1982–83 Hibernian F.C. season - Wikipedia

wow, the season we got relegated...1979, despite being in the marathon SC final, we had crowds on the final game as low as 1,191....nostalgia certainly isn't as good as it used to be This really is a purple period for crowds we are living through, boosted by the cup win, chance of winning league and perhaps helped by the many years of Hibs kids coming through

    1979–80 Hibernian F.C. season - Wikipedia

Here is an all time average Average Hibernian Home League Attendances

We could actually beat 1973 if crowds keep up. 1958 we cannot beat due to size of the stadium, but it is still remarkable because the top attendances in the halycon years of the 50's were boosted by crowds between 40-65k, which means there must have been sone very low attended games as well...whereas this season we are breaking our own records week after week

Thanks for that - Wikipedia ripping off the original research published on ihibs.

That's why lots of researchers now no longer share information on the internet.

Not a dig at you Davy, just where Wikipedia is at.

Is it wiki that are ripping researchers off?

While they provide the platform I don't think it's them that actually provide the information. I think you should be looking elsewhere for those plagiarizing your data.

I think if you sign up with wiki you can amend articles and more importantly for you perhaps seeing who is claiming to be the author.

Personally I think iHibs is a wonderful resource. I used to be frustrated though by not being able to acquire the information on an excel spreadsheet so that I could play around with it. I appreciate the reasons for that :-) Anyway now that I'm retired I don't have to be looking busy pouring over spreadsheets, no time for that now!

    ha!

I wondered why you of all people wanted a link to Hibs info.

You are THE Hibs nerd and I mean that in the most positive and complimentary way!
