    Let's Have Easter Road Rocking

Much has been said this season about the atmosphere inside ER and steps are now underway between the supporters and the club to improve this.

Tonight we have a sell out in three stands and I have no doubt that tonights top of the table clash, under the floodlights with a large travelling support will ensure the atmosphere will take care of itself.

We may feel we are perhaps entitled to three points due to the backing we've already given the club in ticket sales ahead of the match; however it's important we all play our part in generating a positive, vocal backing and get behind the team before kick-off and during the match regardless of how things pan out.

Let's raise the roof tonight and cheer the boys onto hopefully a convincing victory and stretch our lead at the top.

If the team show desire and attempt to play a bit of fitba and not just hoof it, then I'm pretty sure the fans will get behind them.

Bartley's played like a man possessed! Stunning performance from Hibs and well done Lennon in finding a team with goood balance but maintaining an attacking edge 💚👍🏻

This is just a typical reaction of a so-called football fan who thinks violence has a place in the modern game.

I thoroughly commend this view and sincerely hope that it is taken seriously by the silent/non violent majority.
The more $#@!in idiots that get a slap from us silent majority blokes the better.

Indeed it was but I can't help thinking we need more for the other players.

Marv and squirrel had their best games, not much other than a generic round of applause, Jase the brace got nowt other than the generic mentalness that follows any goal despite leading the scoring charts for more than 2 seasons! How Stokes (played 25, scored 10, 3 assists) managed to get the your defence is terrified song ahead of Jase (49, 25, 6) I'll never know!

SJM would be the first, gentlemen that he is, to say it's a team game. We need to show our appreciation, spread the love. Or better still add more to SJM stuff.

OK everyone who kindly responded :-)

Stokes had that song well before the final. Which we won having Hibsed it! Yeah I can see why that cemented it in Stokes favour but what I'm saying is Jase should have had it before he even arrived.

To the fine baby posters ... Aye? I never heard it last night. In fact I can't remember the last time I did! 60 (SIXTY) HIBS GOALS including ones that led to victory over the gunts that he celebrated more than we did ... he's a gunt so he is and he's only 21. The gallus gunt who scores for Hibs for fun who loves to stick it right up thum should be close to legend status. He's a photographic negative of Robbo!

We need to get over some things and look for more to celebrate!

There's a thread on the 'other' site about Squirrel where a goodly number appreciate the boy but others damn him with faint praise.
One fan claims he was the worst player in the team, on the basis that if we have a 'man of the match' we therefore must have a ' donkey of the match'.
There are some strange folk 'support' Hibs.

    No he didn't... Keatings did.

Some players' names are difficult to fit into a song that is catchy & easy for everyone to remember; it's usually as simple as that as to why some players deserving of a song don't have one.
Seems like there's a hole in my dreams, or so it seems

There's a thread on the 'other' site about Squirrel where a goodly number appreciate the boy but others damn him with faint praise.
One fan claims he was the worst player in the team, on the basis that if we have a 'man of the match' we therefore must have a ' donkey of the match'.
There are some strange folk 'support' Hibs.
Probably Simon Pia who you may have seen pissing the bed in a pre Utd interview. Some folk canny help themselves.

first time I heard it was Falkirk away play off game the week before the final I think after Keatings scored a couple in first half.

OK everyone who kindly responded :-)

Stokes had that song well before the final. Which we won having Hibsed it! Yeah I can see why that cemented it in Stokes favour but what I'm saying is Jase should have had it before he even arrived.

You must have heard the Cummings chant Jack? To the tune of the Human League "Don't You Want Me"? Even my wee niece and nephew sing it! Granted it doesn't get as much of an airing at games as it should. Likewise Boney M's "Daddy Cool" for Sir David Gray IMO!

I know Simon has a grudge against STF but I don't see why he would be anti-Squirrel.

If that is Simon then I'm disappointed in him.

I'm at the other end of the East from Sect 43 where I'm assuming you're saying it was sung. It's often said sound doesn't travel well sidyways.

I've never heard the SDG song other than pre THE FINAL.

It seems we need to spread the love along and among the stands as well as the players!

And it seems our repertoire extends well beyond SJM and the fanny song!

I've suggested to the club, old and new regime, that we should get the support (mainly Sect43) the players the ex players and Hibs TV together to put together a series of videos and downloadable MP3s of all the songs.

Imagine if we'd have got the fabulous Lawrie Reilly singing GGTTH and it finishing with him saying with a smile "Gie the baw to me"

What about Mickey Weir singing "I'm here, I'm there, I'm $#@!ing everywhere that is me, that is me" ok well have to work on that for a family audience!

Imagine the 0-7 song, Bye bye Jam Tarts, with the verses sung by the scorers!

There's so many old and new songs.

Imagine all this put together with the Proclaimers and Fish together in his recording studio down the road in Haddington!

I'm John McGinn, Super John McGinn ... and then the supporters take over?

Jase is on fire blah blah then him singing it with the background of goals and fires!!!

    What a hoot!

Video, MP3 and words in the programme coordinated.

The 'on fire' song wasn't doing the rounds up here for any player before stokes arrived and as someone else alluded to a 2 syllable name (Cum-mings) doesn't fit the song.

That was the best atmosphere at a home game all season, we were getting right behind the team for majority of the game, we've put down a marker now let's try and continue that from here on in

I thought the 'on fire' was for Keatings originally.
The two syllables fits fine; Stokesy's on fire?

    No?

It was sung as Keats is on Fire at the away leg Falkirk play off, before it was adopted for Stokes after his cup final display.

I'll try and clarify the point i was making. The 'on fire' song had not been sung at Easter road for anyone when stokes arrived in January. It originated down south (wigan i think) and was being sung eventually up here for Keatings, then Stokes.
@Jack was asking why it wasn't sung for Cummings before Stokes arrived, it hadn't been thought of in January.

    From a mate

Ever since i was a young boy,
    I went to the football,
    From Edinburgh to Belgium,
    I must've seen them all,
But i ain't seen no one like him,
    When he's on the Ball,
That John McGinn....sure plays a mean football....

    He stands like a statue
    When he wears the Green
    He goes on the attack
    Always playing clean
    Plays by intuition
    When he's got the ball
    That John McGinn...sure
    plays a mean football

He's a football wizard there has to be twist,
    A football ball wizard
    He's the finest
    Since Georgie Best.

How do you think he does it
    We don't know,
    What makes him so good,

    Even in our favourite stadium,
    He can beat the best,
Give John McGinn the ball and he just does the rest,
    And when he's goin forward,
    He never seem's to fall,
    Our John McGinn...sure plays
    A mean football!
    PEELY.

It's sung as Keatings on fire by the players on A time for heros.

I was I row GG seat 203 on Friday night the noise was incredible and must admit I fair enjoyed it and plaudits to the drummer.
