Hibs midfield star John McGinn facing lengthy lay-off

    Bad news whenever it happens

Would you like to know more?
    They're gone, not here, forgotten
    The maroon brigade now cry
    The city is now Hibernian
The team that would not die

Hopefully hang fire until the window opens and get Hendo back.

No surprise...we were told all about this weeks ago. An ankle op like this will take at least six weeks to recover from then he needs to get fit again before playing some development games to get back to proper match fitness. This sort of situation is the one thing I feared the most at the beginning of the season regarding our promotion prospects...losing key players through injury for lengthy spells. We have the strongest squad in the league but we cannot afford to have our best players missing for long spells during a season where we have to win every week. Hibs depend an awful lot on John McGinn for creativity and drive and he will be a huge miss no matter what stage of the season he has the operation. When you add Keatings injury to the list and the almost constant injury problems Dylan McGeogh has then that will definitely affect us.

Hibs have known about the McGinn situation for some considerable time so I just hope we have came up will a contingency plan to overcome his loss from the team because it will certainly be a considerable loss.

It's time for the unlucky McGeouch to get fit and stay fit.

Not ideal. Lennon has two options, strengthen in January, or put some faith in Scott Martin. He's young, but if Hibs feel he's good enough to give a contract to, he's good enough to play some more games.

I agree. Scott is a good and tenacious wee player, who has not been given much chance?

His option as he put it at the agm is to get Dylan fully fit....

Think we'd all like that. But as good as he is, he cannae be relied on for extended periods.Doubt he could last a full 2 month schedule without breaking down.

Lack of real cover also, brilliant.

Scott Martin not had a look in and Big Marv a different type of player.

Sort of player we need for while D'Utd get stronger.

Agree. The boy is so frustrating. And he's young too - cannae see him having a long career at this rate.

That's what I remember from the agm - working to get Dylan properly fit which I think Lennon said he had never been up to now?

I think Lennon said he's never been fit for more than ten games at a time in his career but our super duper fitness team were focussed on rectifying that. It'll be interesting to see if they manage it. Dylan is the one midfielder who is key to us controlling and winning games.

Mcgeoch was doing a fair bit stretching of legs while on the park, also thought he was feeling his groin a couple of times.
Love his attitude and desire, very talented and creative player who loves to be direct
