Doesn't seem that long ago. Annoyingly, it remains probably the only "big" Hibs game I've managed to miss in my lifetime! In theory because I was a poor student at the time, but in reality I watched it in Bar Oz with a few mates so really no excuse - poor show from me.

This was No1 that Sunday evening. Still always associate the song with that night as it was played at the end of the game

It was indeed a beautiful day

I can never quite decide between that amazing night or the fixture at their $#@!hole 10 months earlier. Both were proper hammerings in the scoreline but also in general play. Franck Säuzee and Russell Latapy were incredible on both evenings.

Missed the game. Watched it in a pub in Spain. Absolutely brilliant performance. It was my sons 5th birthday that day.
Out for a few tonight and no doubt the conversation will end up with a few discussions about that day and hibs in general.

Both are cherished memories but the performance at Tynecastle the cold December night as we looked forward to a new millennium was a joy to behold. Lstapy in the second half was just sublime.

That's my abiding memory of the game along with ride of the valkyries at the start of the game.

Oh and the old east baying "we want seven"

should have been 7 as Mixu goal disallowed for nothing in first half..

appreciate the sentiment of the U2 number but the actual song is murder

about 750 jambos there to see it, they were ' boycotting ' derbies at ER at the time due to being pish.

Lataps had a gorgeous lobbed effort in the second half of that game that missed by a baw hair; would've brought the house down!

In the old East with a few mates that unforgettable night and it was absolute bedlam in there..
Hibs would have gubbed any team in the country that night with that second half performance...just magnificent.

RE the Millenium derby..we should have put six past them on that occasion as well...Latapy's finest hour in a Hibs jersey IMO.

    A belated happy Birthday 6-2..
