    King Dom

Not happy in Italy, I would have him back in a second, played well with Cummings too.

So would I, no coincidence we had a bad run when he left. Baffling decision to let him go in december imo

Agreed, for all his faults, he was as skilful a forward as we've had at Easter Road in many a year.

No danger, one flash of class every 5 games or so isn't what we need.
He was a part of the squad that failed in the league the previous two seasons and we've got enough of the rest still struggling to tuck away some very average opposition.

I'm expecting Lennon to get 2 or 3 players of a better quality in January to see us through and Henderson, Malonga and Pa Kujabi can stay where they are.

    Promotion for me please, thanks.

I agree. On his day Malonga was terrific. Unplayable even. We saw it so rarely though. Inconsistency could`ve been his middle name.
I started out with nothing and i`ve still got most of it left.

That's absolute nonsense. I really don't know what player people were watching when they come out with stuff like this.

He was a bit lazy off the ball, but his ability to keep possession, outfox defenders and link up with Cummings was on display in most games he played. 17 goals in a season and a half is a great return for a second striker too. I was gutted when he left and I think him going cost us promotion because we hit a terrible patch post January where we just couldn't see out games. A few of Doms assists and "flashes of class" would have come in very handy indeed.

Malonga certainly divided opinion amongst the Hibs support. I thought he was a gifted player and we were fortunate to have him in the Scottish Championship. He was one of Stubbs best signings as far as I am concerned and we certainly missed him after he left in January. There is no chance of a return to Easter Road though. We have a different management team now and I don't think he is Lennon's type of player, but more to the point he left Hibs due to personal family reasons and I doubt those will have changed in 10 months.

His goal against Aberdeen at Easter Road last season in the League Cup is the best goal I have seen scored by a Hibs player since Latapy's in the 6-2 game. Sheer individual class very rarely seen in the Scottish game these days.

The attention he received from opposition players was only matched by the lack of protection he received from Scottish refs. No wonder he wanted to leave.

I would loved to have seen him link up with Anthony Stokes.

Sorry and our latest strikers who have recently signed have scored how many?

For me Dom is the type of player that is needed did you forget his goal against Aberdeen or how he and Jase tore shreads into the Huns at castle grey skull to name but a few.

One of my best Malonga memories was at home against Queen of the South I think it was. A bit of a boring game and we were heading for a 0-0 draw until I think it was Gray whipped in a ball to the back post and Malonga powered a header in to the ground bouncing up in to the net. Just remember everybody going mental, people that were leaving running back out to the stairs. Loved that.

Edit: Just had a look on Youtube and managed to find it and I would take him back in a heartbeat.

Dom or Holt. The stats speak for themselves and as lazy as he was perceived he done us well. This season has been pretty grim viewing even when we won, and having tried the battering our way through teams we are still no further forward except in the red card league. You can't say at the start of the season we are going to play this style and not expect in inept officials to be all over this. Roll on January and even more so the end of season and return to the spfl 😀

There's a 3 day old thread on dotnet started with him being unable to hold down a place in a Seria B club.

Usual marmite replies like here but among them there's one says the same as greenmachine. He moved there for personal/family reasons and those haven't changed.

If that's the case he'll not be coming back to gie it yaldi over here.

In total, Malonga scored 22 goals in 54 games - an average of a goal every 2.4 games. If that's not consistency I don't know what is. Dom's style of play is lightyears ahead of most players in Scottish football, but the typical punter probably resents it nonetheless because "he's no running hard enough!".

Considering the shambles of a signing that Chris Dagnall was (0 goals in 15 games), I really can't believe there are Hibs fans out there who have anything but utter admiration and respect for Malonga. As well as those 22 goals and 7 assists, he was also a great character off the pitch.

We were lucky to have him, not the other way around. If he can ever sort out his family stuff and keep them in Edinburgh I'd be delighted to get him back.

And possibly gained promotion. I'm not about to bestow god like qualities on Dom but he was head and shoulders above anything else in the league we are in. His main problem was he didn't like being kicked off the park and went in the huff due to that. He didn't get much in the way of protection from refs either.

One things for sure we've had much less of a goal threat since he left. I too am inclined to believe we would have got up with him around.

I also know he loved it at us and Edinburgh, I am sure his family would rather Dom was playing football something he also loves very much.

I love Dom - his goal against Aberdeen at ER in that Cup game was one of the best goals I've seen at ER. He'd walk into our team just now with our forward options imo...having said that he doesn't seem to fit into the Lennon way of playing (im not entirely sure what that is tbh but it's not particularly easy on the eye so far).

I thought he left because his family was unsettled so I guess it will be case of thanks for the memories as I dont see him coming back.

Dominique Malonga: My regret over leaving Hibs - Edinburgh Evening News

Gotta love Dom. IMO his partnership with JC is the best pairing we've had since we found ourselves in this $#@!e division. Says lots of nice things about Hibs in that article, and then ends with, "You never know, you never know. If I come back to Scotland, for me it will be Hibs. We will see. I really don’t know where I will be. My agent is looking for things. I don’t think he will call Hibs, but we will see"

Says the reason he left eas because he had 6 months left of contract and was offered 2 and half years in Italy. Sad it's not worked out for him. If he believed in himself enough he could have played and improved his game and won a new contract, and maybe Stokes would have been good for him. But it's water under the bridge, pity people have to leave Hibs before they realise how good they had it.

Sounds to me like a plea to come back. I wouldnt be at all upset if we tried to take him on loan till the end of the season.

I notice Jorge Claros hasn't been playing a lot recently either.

Was always surprised by the stick he got, I thought he usually stood out in the Hibs teams he played in due to being skillful and hard to get the ball off. As is pointed out elsewhere a goal every two and a half games is not to be sniffed at.
