    St Mirren today

Everyone going along today? I expect a 6000 crowd, but some interesting changes onfield with Super John away with Scotland and maybe one or two rested?

I'm skint so decided not to bother. Got to be honest and say I've found us quite boring to watch in all honesty this season? Mind you I look at the Scottish Cup Winners in the team and love them all.

Cannae make it, again. Missed a few fixtures already this season. Not interested in this competition either, so not really fussed.

Will be there again, as per...

Interested to see what line up he goes with. A chance to experiment without any upset - let's see what the others can offer minus the ones away with the Scotland set up. I'd reckon Keats will be up top with one of the big boys. Have to say, after the last couple of outings from Graham, I'd really not be fussed if Holt gets the nod over him.

Midfield of Fyvie and three others... eenie, meenie, minie...

I'd like to see us go 442 instead of the diamond, for once.

A win and we'll be into the business end of the competition.

I'll be giving this one a miss..for various reasons.

If I was Lennon though I would be resting most of the first team and playing mainly fringe players and development players. I would also experiment with a big change in the formation. I would play three up front with Holt and Keatings with Boyle or Harris wide on the right providing pace and width. I've came to the conclusion after the last two seasons and what we have seen in home games this season so far that we should be playing with thre up top at ER with atleast one natural wide player. Keatings has some pace and is a more intelligent striker than Jason Cummings and he seems to be in good form a well. Holt gives us experience and can hold the ball up well. I don't think he has been as bad as many fans seem to think he has been. I would be looking to being Jason Cummings on in the second half of matches when he will be trying to prove a point and will be more keen to score late goals. Opposing teams will $#@!e themselves seeing the leagues top scorer coming on in the second half of matches determined to prove his manager wrong for not playing him.

Like Smurf, I really haven't enjoyed watching Hibs much so far this season at Easter Road. I think Lennon really does need to change the approach and the formation particularly for home matches. What we have seen up to now is not good enough and IMO will not win us promotion if it continues.

Gym this morning, Mother's birthdays, so need to visit her, then step daughter cos her birthday yesterday both in Airdrie today and got a birthday ceilidh for a mate tonight in Musselburgh so too much for me to get there as well. Hopefully a decent crowd as it may seem a Mickey Mouse cup but how often do we have a real chance to hold 3 trophies at one time?

Isn't going to be. Not unless all the people who have decided to do other things change their mind in the next couple of hours. The booking system online shows a very low uptake of tickets.

We've had decent crowds at home this season but low level entertainment. Unless we see a change in direction with some goals we are going to lose the increased support.

    No going. Working.
Just saw the team news and it's a much stronger team than I'd anticipated. I'll go for 5-1 to the mighty cabbage.

According to radio Scotland Leeann is expecting a crowd of 4~5 thousand.

Same old story, missed our chances, Ref was brutal, Defence all over the place, although their goal looked offside for the second.

Another loss at home which needs sorting out ASAP!! Harris MOM says it all simply not good enough Hibs.

Harris deservedly man of the match.

Today just summed hibs up lately, too much tippy tappy pish with no direction, when chances are created we don't take them and we just canny hold onto a lead to save ourselves lately. Officials were gash but we shouldn't be leaving ourselves in positions for a bad decision to make us lose games, we should be out of sight. But like I said earlier, at least this was in this cup and not the league.

Totally unacceptable. This stuff about diddy Cup is blithering. We should be expecting Hibs to win this Cup and any other. Ah well, $#@!ed at Easter Road , in diddy Cup, it doesnae matter. It certainly does as does getting pumped out of the League Cup. I know folk will come back with 'all that matters is winning the League'. Our opposition to this happening whether bottom of the League St. Mirren, or League Cup supremos Queen of the South or any other outrageously skillful mob full of top notch players, such as Ayr $#@!ing United, must be $#@!ting themselves at the prospect of taking on Hibs at Easter Road. Get a grip Hibs or the fantastic crowds will disappear like snow off a dyke. Are any alarm bells ringing with others.

Yes, they are.......and i agree, just dissing this performance with "who cares, it`s a diddy cup" is missing the bigger picture. At the moment we are rank $#@!ing rotten and it needs sorted ASAP. All those thousands of returning , lapsed Hibees will soon re-lapse again if this $#@! continues.

I think there are two separate points here that can be treated individually.

    1) Yes, the IrnBru Cup is a diddy cup. I don't want Hibs to win it, it would be an embarrassment to win it quite honestly; especially since we just won the Scottish. I was hoping we'd get knocked out at some point by a fairly reputable side like St. Mirren, because unless we were playing Real Madrid in the final I wouldn't have bothered going.

    2) However, this was clearly a bad time to lose a game of football - regardless of which diddy cup it happened to occur in. There are problems in this side which need sorting out. The only thing I can be thankful of is that this didn't happen in the league today, so we haven't dropped points from what sounds like a chronic performance.

Lennon's got a real job on his hands now. 6 points from Fife in the next 2 weeks is a must.

    St Mirren today

Have real concerns about Lennon's recruitment and the way he uses his squad. I honestly think our Plan A is a load of wank and Plan B is throw on random subs and pray for a result.

We are torture to watch...absolute torture..slow, ponderous, predictable $#@!e. It is not $#@!ing good enough, the players (who also need a good kick up the arse by the way) are (or should be) much better than they are showing. That's even allowing for what is rapidly appearing a shambolic transfer window..we are weaker in key positions that needed strengthened.

We seem to have become considerably $#@!er than the sum of the parts some how. I was firmly in favour of Lennon coming in, but at the moment it's looking like we've got the dispirited, disinterested Bolton version rather than the insanely committed Celtic one.

    Disgraceful today.

Like many of us I was delighted with Lennon with his knowledge and experience of the Scottish game.

He had cash at his disposal with the Smellies, although didn't have it at Bolton and we all know what happened there, is the same happening here where he hasn't had a lot of cash and is struggling with tactics and who his best team is also. Rumours of unrest with the players has anyone else heard this?

The 'unrest' story gets aired frequently.
Usually/always during a spell of poor performance.

Haven't heard the unrest rumour, tho the manager saying the players are ignoring his instructions may be where it's coming from.

We cannot afford "unrest in the dressing room" this season. It's Lennon's job to sort this team out and come up with a formation of play which is going to win this league. I have to say I do not think it was a good idea to go criticising individual players in the media as he did a few weeks ago. I wouldn't be surprised if this has irked the players a bit similar to when Butcher done the same. I hate when managers do this as it is just a deflection shield from the fact that their tactics have failed. As I said though we cannot afford disharmony with huffy and dispirited players not playing for the manager this season, the stakes are far too high for that sort of nonsense. The managers job is to win games regularly in this league and the players job is to give 100% in every match and win the vast majority of them.

11,000 Hibs fans have responded to the call this season along with the additional walk-ups. They have backed the team to the hilt and have been rewarded this season so far with mainly rotten performances and three cup exits. It's nowhere near good enough and has to be sorted this week. Wins at Raith Rovers and Dunfermline are essential although both will be tough games.

Mr Lennon...get it sorted please. Whatever problems there are with the team are your responsibility to fix. Please fix it now. Mediocre losing football was never tolerated by the Celtic supporters when you were there and it won't be tolerated by Hibs supporters. As for the players...you are playing for a great football club. Half hearted performances like we have been getting for most of the season so far are not acceptable for Hibernian Football Club and never will be.

Ive defended the team more often than nought, but this game finally had me admitting we are not good enough either in defence, midfield or attack. The defenders have had a lot of individual praise yet week after week they lose goals at the first real concerted attacks on goal. The midfield constantly do not attack with enough urgency nor put a good ball in, and the forwards are just not creative or bold enough. Not yet convinced by the goalie either.

Honeymoon period of the Scottish cup is well and truly over, and if these players wanna get to and stay in the SPL they better start showing they are capable of it and up for the fight.

Lennon too has a lot to prove, and part of the proving is to find the best formation and start winning.

Yep we appear at time to have grandois ideas. Yes of course no one wants us to sustain injuries while trying to get out this league. However sevco were in same boat last year yet saw that getting into winning ways can help foster confidence. Some people think it is not worth bothering about but the reality is we are in the lower leagues and should have made a good attempt to win both that cup and the league. Mickey mouse it may seem to some, but it is all about handling expectations and right now we are not, and yes the support would do well to realise 3 cups at one time would be a positive not a negative. £12 wasn't much to ask, I bet significantly more would be demanding of a cup final ticket if it was played Tynecastle against Dundee utd
