Forgot Maybury played for us for a while. Whatever happened to Cairney? Came with a lot of potential and then just kind of dropped away. See he's doing the rounds in the lower leagues, remember there were rumors about his health.

Lower leagues!? He's in our league Played in the Ayr Utd team that beat us at ER recently. He was totally anonymous though I must say and got subbed. I don't think many Hibees even knew that it was THAT Paul Cairney that had played for us.

Back then I liked him, when he was on his game.

Think it was Cairney who scored a really classy goal for us v Celtic at Parkhead in a 2-2 draw during his first season with us, nutmegged the Celtc defender IIRC. Expected big things of him after that!

Cairney did have a bit of class about him when he joined us. Played out of position though. He's got some sort of illness though (someone remind me what it is) which is sad for him.

No? I thought that was the whole story - he was diagnosed with something while at ER? Is there no truth to the story?

To be fair, there are a number of articles on the web (fans sites and mainstream media) saying he had some form of illness and some of those msm places mention Crohns.

However, there is this one article in the Milngavie Herald (yes, there is one) saying he was TESTED for Crohns at Partick Feesil...and it came back negative. Looks like where this has come from. He has had some form of digestive issue in 2010, been tested for Crohns but it wasn't that.

"The 22-year-old, who missed the last two games of the season because of a Crohn's disease scare, said he was relieved tests have given him the all clear. He said: "A few of the boys were in on Monday. It was my first time back since my holiday in Turkey and I'm feeling refreshed and ready to get back into training. "I went to the doctor at the end of last season because I was feeling tired and losing weight, but the doctor gave me the all clear from Crohn's disease which was a major relief".
