    Belfast for the weekend

    Lads

I am heading over this weekend with a mate and we have no real plans. Just looking for a bit of a laugh and a few beers.

Any hints or advise on where to go, where to avoid would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Not been up there for a good couple years but for pubs Kelly's Cellars, The John Hewitt, White's Tavern, The Morning Star (perhaps more for food) are some of the places around the city centre that were decent. Lavery's down towards Queens Uni is also a decent spot that caters for a large cross section of society. Have no idea what these places are like now though. Never thought Belfast city centre was the best for choice of pubs to be honest.

Some of the pubs & social clubs further up the falls road towards Andersonstown can be good, often have good music as well, as long as ye mind your Ps&Qs. Areas to avoid are fairly obvious. My favourite thing about Belfast is probably St George's Market.

This probably isnt much help, perhaps some of the nordies can give more up to date advice?

Cheers, after I posted I saw the previous requests for help on nights out so although they were old threads I have loads of details from there on pubs and stuff so won't be stuck for places to try out.
