One for the Percy Thrower's on here

This is currently growing in one of my flower pots in my back garden. Any gardeners on here know what it is?

If I knew I wouldn't be asking Dubster. I never planted anything in the plant pot, green things just appear in them from year to year. Its normally weeds but I'm pretty sure this is a proper plant.

I think you may be right Tatie, although I don't put seeds down for the birds. Pretty late in the day for it growing though, I would have thought.

Although sunflowers can be started indoors in individual peat pots, it is easiest to sow seeds directly into the soil after all danger of spring frost is past. However, where the growing season is short, sunflowers can be safely planted up to 2 weeks before the last expected spring frost. Sunflowers can take a chill or two. Where growing seasons are long, it is best to wait until the soil temperature reaches 55 degrees to 60 degrees F.
