Mine is taking companies to task when I have been given service I don't think is upto scratch.

Tomorrow or Monday I will be in the Swatch Shop on Prince's Street.

I bought a watch for my wife some time ago but within the 2 year guarantee. A new battery just wouldn't go in.

Having agreed an exchange I sent my wife to choose her watch.

One can only imagine my rage when wee darling told me she had been embarrassed in front of family and comstomers when they said sorry we've changed our minds, bolt.

Now poor workmanship apart I thought that was a bit shan.

Official fireworks at 9th tomorrow. I expect I'll have a new watch and compensation by that time.

    Observers welcome.

Previous successes have included 450 from the Bank of Scotland; 2,000 from the Royal Bank; a new suite from some bloody furniture company I always forget the name of ( formerly of Piccardy Place); 650 from Ford for about 300 worth of stuff they $#@!ed up; so many others I'm quite chuffed with but I truly glow at the 3/4 million contract I had a family member cancell as a result of a disputed 650 bill as part of a boiler replacement, they would only offer 68 for :-) way hay!!!!!!! I wasted no time in telling the British Gas Chairman by letter and the his follow up grovelling cold phone call still has me cheesin P&G.

The moral of the story is DON'T TAKE NO $#@! if you think you are right - get them to prove otherwise.

Canny believe it no joy at $#@! watches Swatch on Princes Street. Had a wee protest for an hour or so on a picket line asking folk not to go in cause their watches are rubbish.

As there's no game next week I'm considering next Saturday for another protest

Thing is Jack, they're no really $#@! watches. I've probably got about 8 Swatch watches, some that are over 20 years old, and they all still work.

There is a knack to putting the battery in though.

Golf...i love playing golf but don't play nearly enough.I'm getting jnr into it now, so hopefully more regular gowf time.
Reading..i know it sounds daft but probably my favourite past-time(got a kindle now and it surprised me by being even more enjoyable than reading actual books!)
Watching my son play for Leith Athletic on Sundays..my favourite way to watch the beautiful gemme.
You're more than welcome to join me at Whitekirk of a weekend Mike. Hattie has the offer as well but he hasn't pitched up yet and Forza has a constant open invitation which he may well get round to taking up again [as have Shrink and Osmosis]. Tiger Prima plays most weekends.

Naw. Golf keeps the dog owners and cyclists off the streets for a while. And the ospreys are an easy target as they watch the gowfers in amazement.

Snooker. Play in a Thursday night league and have done for a few years now, love it. Go through stages now of practicing and then not bothering for months. Used to practice most week days after school constantly. The way am playing just now though I should be practicing .

If any fellow bouncers fancies a few friendly frames one day then give me a shout

I play clarinet in a community (and helpfully very inclusive and tolerant...) wind band. It's the thing that makes me happiest, and I wish I'd had the opportunity to do it when I was younger.

We've got quite a few W.Lothian based brass players (and concert ringers) from brass/silver bands, though playing mainly in Midlothian, I think.

    Do you play?
I play clarinet in a community (and helpfully very inclusive and tolerant...) wind band. It's the thing that makes me happiest, and I wish I'd had the opportunity to do it when I was younger.

We've got quite a few W.Lothian based brass players (and concert ringers) from brass/silver bands, though playing mainly in Midlothian, I think.
Nope, never blown a note. My laddie plays euphonium in the youth band. I just happened to be an effective administrator.
Think we're doing not bad though. Senior Band are Scottish champions and ranked 17th in the world standings. Youth Band got a joint 4th at the UK championship in April - average age of 11 up against 16 year olds

Good for him, and well done Whitburn senior and junior bands

My daughter does a lot of music, and she played in a competition where the adjudicator, having congratulated them all on their effort and commitment, pointed out that you never hear an adult complaining that they spent too much time practising their trumpet/piano/whatever...Hope he keeps at it

Getting him to practice is the hard bit. He did well last year by getting placed third at the East of Scotland solo competition and qualified for the Scottish final. He's currently working towards grade 5 and needs to knuckle down and put the work in. We're maybe a bit hard on him as he's only turned 14

Snooker. Play in a Thursday night league and have done for a few years now, love it. Go through stages now of practicing and then not bothering for months. Used to practice most week days after school constantly. The way am playing just now though I should be practicing .

I play for the Royal Navy Club, based at Cannonmills. We've been based there for coming up 5 year now. Aye Meadowbank (New Yorker as a few call it) is still open mate, ad say 50% of the teams play out there now, due to the fact a few of the older social clubs shutting down over the years (British Legion Club, St Marys ect).

New Yorker get's on my tits though, don't look forward to playing my matches there as the tables & place in general isn't well looked after!

I wish I could count football as a hobby, but I've not played for years.

Canny believe it no joy at $#@! watches Swatch on Princes Street. Had a wee protest for an hour or so on a picket line asking folk not to go in cause their watches are rubbish.

As there's no game next week I'm considering next Saturday for another protest

Can I interest you in some watch insurance?
Valid for three years and covers everything on the watch except the strap.
And the actual watch. Bargain price of only twice the cost of your purchase.

Travelling: Been lucky enough to have visited many famous cities and beautiful parts of the world over the years...would love to see even more of the world if I had the dosh

Fitness Training: Go to fitness classes regularly at Meadowbank...I have also been a member of a weights club for over 20 years and work out regularly. I also love swimming.

Music: My greatest love....I love most kinds of music and been to hundreds of gigs over the years all over the country and seen just about every famous musical artist there has been in that time. Of course as many of you know from my posts over the years I am a huge Springsteen fan and have been to see him many, many times all over the UK and Ireland. I also collect many bootleg Springsteen live recordings and rare recordings going back to his early career

You really need to be playing the version of pool these tables were built for rather than our pool. As you say it is a doddle clearing up with these big pockets.
