There abouts for me as well...but i would really hope Stanton gets in there somehow as well, on the bench at least.
Hopefully he gets a chance and takes it......could be an exciting addition to the squad.
If we are to be using the youth, which i would like, at the right time, then they need to get game time or they will just get wasted and no doubt released......

I'd start Taiwo in front of Thomson. His work rate and energy would be missed.

Thomson would be the first name on my team sheet. Decent pre season under his belt now. As long as he is played in the middle of the park, not stuck on the left wing, he is our best midfielder.

Like Taiwo as well though, he would also be in my team ahead of Jones from what I've saw of him so far. That's only been against Dumbaron, Raith and Malmo right enough.he was a big player for Inverness last year so not writing him off yet

McGivern is young but he has a lot of international experience.

Thomson is our best player by a mile. He is a defensive midfielder. Taiwo is an attacking midfielder. They both do two different jobs.

No sure about Taiwo being an attacking midfielder. 1 goal last season and not particularly creative. Do like him though.

Do you watch different games from me? Taiwo isn't an attacking midfielder, nothing even remotely close to it

Thomson has a lot to prove to us all still, he's not shown enough quality since he's been back. I don't doubt his quality, but he needs to show more of it, seems lazy too often.

Thomson doesn't show enough quality? Your seriously having a laugh. He was our best player by a mile against Malmo.

In the second leg? That's arguable at best. By a mile? Naw.

Did you read the full paragraph or just pick out a few choice words?

I believe everyone who was at the away leg and said he was our best player (although Williams sounds a close contender) and that's 1 game, the other game where he showed all his qualities was the game where Caldwell scored the last minute at Tynefritzle.
2 games where I think people can say Thomson showed all his quality, the rest of them, when he gets the ball you can see he's a footballer, but he comes across lazy.
We need to see his qualities MORE OFTEN.

Regarding the differing views on Thomson - put it this way, IF all we knew about him was his performances during his second [current] stint with us would we be raving about him ? Don't think so somehow. However , having said that, we do have previous knowledge of him, and IF he can get back to near that form , more often than of late, then don't think any of us will be disappointed in him

He was our best outfield player by a mile. For what it,s worth he would be one of my first picks if he is fit.

He was the only Hibs player who had the confidence in his own ability to go and get on the ball in that game.

if he can stay fit he will be massive for us this year and show his quality.

That's very true, but we don't say the others would be the first on the sheet.
Its because he's one of the players we know can make a difference to any team in this league, the expectation I suppose.

I like him, just expect him to give us a lot more (could say that about everyone too

Nope, wasn't there unfortunately, however whether I did or didn't bears no relation to the point I am trying [obviously badly] to make.
Will try again :- If Thomson had only played for us this second spell, ie from Jan this year and we had no knowledge of how good a player he is/was, we wouldn't be raving about him. Now, from what I have read he was our best outfield player in Sweden, fair do's, however, one cuckoo doesn't make a summer, and one really good game doesn't make a player.
Now I am a Thomson supporter and hope/believe he will do a good job for us this season, all I am saying is, we need him to perform CONSISTANTLY, and not like the second half of last season only now and again.

That is an excellent attacking team with flair and skill. It may take a few weeks to settle but I high hopes for this squad. 4-5-1 or 4-3-3. This is how OGC NIce play with 2 wide wingers and it is the way to go.
