    Jordan Forster

Deserves a thread I think. A very confident performance for a first team debut I thought. Especially considering it was a derby.

Wondered who would make his thread, and very deserving indeed.
Impressed me against the Celtic under's on Thursday and only enhanced my views of him today, wasn't flustered by Sutton or Ngoo at any point and seemed to work really well with Hanlon.
Can only be good for the squad imo, McPake will need time out in the future and he seems more than capable of stepping in.

    Sorry Doc!

None of the reply buttons work for me, they just give loading circles, but at the bottom of the screen it says quick reply and advanced, when I click quick it posts twice.. Not my fault

If I click advanced though it seems to work okay :

I was very impressed with him today. Constantly talking throughout the game which is a great attribute to have, especially as such a young player. He was very composed and made N'Goo look even more of a useless lanky streak of pish.

Difficult for a young boy to be put in the centre of the defence in a derby for his debut but handled it really well and has guaranteed himself future call ups imo.

Thought he was great today. Good to see the way him, Caldwell and Handling were embracing each other at the end of the game. Think it shows a good team spirit and bodes well for the future.

Just watched the game back, and he done something our defenders struggle with...

He played a ball over the top, from the edge of his box, that dropped in behind their defence and gave the forward something to run into, as opposed to the punts into opposing defenders.
Shows a good touch. I'm impressed.

I was impressed with the lad. Despite the fact he was up against the two most wooden and clumsy strikers in the league he showed enough ability to earn his place in the team. A very good prospect.
I started out with nothing and i`ve still got most of it left.

It's always great to read or hear that a player is a nice and friendly sort.

The defence should be worried that their place isn't secure after yesterday.
Obviously, I am desperate for McPake to reemerge with the displays of last season but Forster is in with a shout.

Reminded me of jonathan baillie with circumstances thrown in at the deep end and done brilliant.

Keep that up and a squad place on may 26th could be his.
No chance he will start on final day, and tbh id back that. As much as he was class hooper would use his experience in the laddie.

Next season though he has a big big chance to be a regular starter.

    I like him alot.

Looks really strong for his size, and his passing is of a good quality for a central defender.

Looking at McPake during the lap of honour definitely makes me think he's out of the final.
I think Forster can come in and do a job, I really do. Seems to have an understanding with Hanlon, never looked out of sorts in any of the games he's played.

Just wonder if Pat should have gave him game time a way back when McPake started to struggle, we could either avoided the mess of McPake not being able to play or on the other side Forster's experience would be as such some of us wouldn't be too worried about him on the big day.

Or maybe he wasn't ready and he's 'come of age' at the right time, and Pats played a blinder

Either way I'm not too worried

I was going to post same. McPake looked way out of shape. I hardly recognised him. Thought Forster was a big strapping lad and never worried about him looking flustered the way I've seen with McPake.

He looks very calm and composed for such a young boy.

I could be wrong but I don't think he missed a header or a tackle today?

I'd be happy to see him play at hampden.
    Its Liam Henderson to deliver...
And David Gray has scored! The captain!

HAS to play on Sunday. He's fit and capable, and at this moment in time, much as it pains me to say it, McPake is not. I hope James has it in him to be the bigger man on the day, and make sure that everyone is up for it. I haven't forgotten his crucial contribution to Hibernian FC.

I keep seeing him scoring a headed winner , very composed player and pretty commanding too for a young lad

Don't you reckon he makes Hanlon play better too ? He seemed to talk him through most of the game today. McPake has been so quiet in the games before he got injured. Didn't expect this step up from Forster.
