IIRC Fr Steve Gilhooley who subsequently left the priesthood. Had his own demons to contend with and wrote a book about them.

That outfit was a major fashion faux pas and were him and a pal in same attire not asked to leave ground for own safety?

Must admit the 50/50 strip idea appeals to me. Thinking of wearing a Hibs/Gunts top to the derby... after all we are both Embra teams.

Read and article where he provided a pen portrait of himself which included mention of this jape, which he rather vaingloriously described as making himself a 'target of the hibs casuals'; going by the above this translates into getting an understandable bollocking from surrounding hibs supporters in general

Why would a Draperstown Celtic fan wear his shirt to a Hibs/Celtic final?

I bought one of their shirts a few years back when I was over for a family get together, hotizontal green and white stripes on the front, solid green on the back.

Half-and-half scarves are the shannest thing in football IMO.
I'll be livid if I see the "ERRA SCARVES" weedgies selling them.

I remember he went on Off The Ball not long after defending his actions and couldn't believe he got the reaction he did. He said he thought he would be safe as they where both "Catholic" clubs.

Can't remember what Tam Cowan said but Stuart Cosgrove said the reaction would have been much much worse in the Celtic end.

I had a half Hibs scarf half Notts forest scarf yonks back. I can remember someone handing it to me in Lothian Road but I cant remember what the relevance was
    They're gone, not here, forgotten
    The maroon brigade now cry
    The city is now Hibernian

It wasn't front and back though, it was right down the middle, Father Steve had one club crest and his pal had the other.

To be honest I didn't have a massive problem with it, he was my priest at the time, his uncle who's a priest is a hibby, no harm done.

Incidentally, he wore the aforementioned top again after that day.
