Never worked out 2nd time around for Ivan and tbh a didny want him back in the 1st place.

However he has gave me some of the best memories in my time supporting the cabbage and I can't thank him enough.

Cheers wee man and all the best at County except for when you play us.

His drive and aggression will be an asset to County, the only thing he had was pace and not much else but his drive and commitment in games should be useful to County if they find themselves down the bottom of the table next season.

He was a 'super-sub' at best, in my opinion. He just didn't have any technical skills, just great acceleration and pace. His aggression (although often excessive) has always been useful I suppose.

Thanks for the memories Ivan, you might not have been the consistent stalwart of legendary status but you'll always be a cult hero for your demolishing of teams with your pace. Proud to have him as a former player.

    Yup!

    Thanks Ivan & good luck.

I lost count the number of times you had the supporters in the old East Stand on their feet when you had the ball at yours.

    Great fun it was too.

I'm hoping this paves the way for the arrival of someone with genuine pace - surely they wouldn't have let Ivan go without a like-for-like replacement lined up?

    OK, I'll have a stab:

Goes like $#@! off a shovel, and crucially can burn off a full back in a foot race, having conceded 2 or 3 yards of a start.

    How's that?

I was about to say that, if you have pace you tend to do exactly that.

Ivan was one of the fastest players I've ever seen in his first stint. I'd even go as far as saying the fastest. I don't quite understand where 'genuine pace' comes from. I've never heard that before, a baffling term for me that I can't define.

Good luck Ivan, you will be long remembered at Easter Road. A guy who took to the club and the fans. He had a great habit of getting us off our feet when he was at his best.

Thanks for the memories Ivan. Super sub at Ibrox when he scored his hat-trick is up there with the best. In his early days the fans always got a lift when he was on the team sheet.

One of the best hat tricks scored in a Hibs shirt I'd wager

One of the best hat-tricks scored in general when he was only on the field for 25-30 minutes. Averaging a goal every 10 minutes at Ibrox that day is quite impressive, they had a decent side too.

I'll try to explain by contrast, Monsieur le Prcis - it appears that Lance Armstrong had ungenuine pace.

Loved Ivan in his first time at the club. So exciting every time he got the ball.

Will never forget the day I was at Ibrox to see him score 3.

All the best at Ross County Ivan...

Thanks for all the goals and the excitement you brought to Easter Road...one of the best bargain signings Hibs have made in my lifetime.

Good luck Ivan (except against us, obviously!)

Loved the wee guy in a Hibs shirt first time round, he gave everything he had and never hid.

The excitement was tangible when he got the ball.

    All the best.

I'll try to explain by contrast, Monsieur le Prcis - it appears that Lance Armstrong had ungenuine pace.

I am afraid I gave all my platitudes to a magnificent signing the last time Ivan left but this time around there really isn't anything to say.

There has to be a case for Chief Executives and Boards of Directors putting the veto on daft whims of these silly managers.

Mixu gave his pal Jonathan Johanson a pension top up plan when he was completely finished. Yogi signed 'Dutch Eddie' thinking he was Pat McGinlay but who turned out to be Mags McGinlay and Coco signed Ivan to appease the fans without seemingly any knowledge that his only asset pace had gone.

At least Fenlon husnae signed anyone completely washed up and passed it.

While I agree with the general sentiment, the notion that his pace has gone is way off the mark. He demonstrated in a few games this season that he still (more or less) has it- we just hadn't been seein it cos (a) he wasn't getting the kind of service which would utilise it, and (b) he was trying too hard to be "cultured" when in possession himself. With the pressure off, County will get more out of him and I can see him doing damage in the SPL for another season or 2.

Good luck, Ivan! In terms of passion, no player I've ever seen in a Hibs shirt merited it more than yourself & the scoring exploits speak for themselves...

As recently as the cup game against Hearts, Ivan showed how he can make a difference to a game.

It was his pass to Spoony and running the ball into the corners to see the game out that won us the game IMO.

All the best wee man, sad to see you go.

Cairney played the pass to Wotherspoon for the Cup game, if you're referring to the goal.

I agree that he made a difference though, when he was brought on.

    My thoughts too.

Clearly Ivan didn't fit in with Pat's plans, but I think he can still do a decent job as an old fashioned winger, and he'll do a job for RC.

The boy will always bleed green too.
I felt ashamed when I heard of the abuse he was getting from so-called Hibs fans - sometimes I really despair of some of 'our family'.
Sorry to see him go and I wish him a fresh start and a happy couple of seasons at least - with the usual provisos.

I'd hope that any abuse he got was from kids who don't know any better, or when to shut their mouth. Being honest, there was many times where I looked down at my feet and muttered, "$#@!sake Ivan" but he was the reason I was on my feet in the first place.

In the old east you could feel the sharp intake of breath and the anticipation was tangible when he got the ball out wide. How many players can we say that of over the past decade or so. I only wish I'd been at Ibrox.
He was always first over to the fans after a game and you could see how much it meant to him to play for us.

I hope he takes away as many good memories as we do of him.

Even the ones I'm making up.....like that pass to Spoony :-)

    He won't be missed

That sounds harsher than I would like, but its true. He hasn't really done anything 2nd time round
Most of the time you didn't know he was on the park

Aye - didn't spot that wee error in your earlier post. I did congratulate Paul on the pass at the time though.
Point is that Ivan still has the experience and guile to make a difference. He was never a 100% er in terms of impact - but when he turned up the burners he still could turn games too.

If he's not getting a game (but possibly still a top wage) then it's probably best for everyone that he moves on.

Still a top bloke though eh.

Never had the pleasure of his company, but by all accounts he is. He certainly had time for the fans around ER
When he came on as a sub at ipox, G O'c apparently said to Mowbray " And what the $#@! is he going to do"
    nice one Gary
