    Favourite Whisky

I don't know how people can drink beer/lager I think it's bloody awful.

So hows about your favourite whisky? Post up, give some recommendations!

I don't drink and haven't had a great selection but I'd probably go for Oban 14 bias

    Laphroaig for me.

A bonus is to hear some of the fannies down here whining about it 'tasting like TCP'.

Love 'Snow Grouse'. It's a cheap wee effort. Well, not cheap but always decent deals in the supermarkets.

    No particular favourite.
I like the bog standard, Bells, Grouses etc and the Classic Malts.
You can tell a good Malt just by the colour, a light straw/Horse pish colour .

Balvenie, Cardhu, Dalwhinnie, Glenkinchie would be among my favourites. Also partial to the occasional Lagavulin, Laphroaig or Talisker though.

I love the usual suspects when it comes to malts - Laphroig, Talisker, Glenfiddich (the 15 is my favourite) etc...

but if you fancy a quality blend Monkey Shoulder would be my shout. Beautiful stuff!

Me and a mate stole his Dads yin time to try it. We were 6/7 years old. I still remember the burning sensation as it went down my throat! Never touched the stuff since, although I paid 50 odd quid for a malt about a decade ago as a pressie, recipient said it was braw, got it from the whiskey shop up Princess Street, Glen something I think.

Like the peaty ones like Lagavulin, Talisker and Bruchladdich. Black Bottle is a good cheaper one, Highland Park is very good too. Scapa is very nice too, got a bottle of that last year with my Christmas bonus, but should have probably gone for Lagavullin.

It's all good though really isn't it! Some Speyside ones are belters too!

Similar experience as a kid in someone's house at New year, snaffling a bottle from the kitchen and sneaking it up the stairs. Never touched it since.

Big fan o the maritime whiskies like the Laddie (Bruichladdich), Caol Ila, Springbank and Talisker. Salty rather than peaty. I visited new kid on the block Kilchoman while on Islay recently and tried their cheeky wee 5 year old, it's a micro distillery 5 miles from Bruichladdich, they do their own malting. Nice.
