Hibs sign goalkeeper Mark Brown
Hibernian have announced the signing of goalkeeper Mark Brown from SPL rivals Celtic.
The former Rangers, Motherwell, Inverness and Killie keeper has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Easter Road after being released by Celtic.
Brown will now fight it out with Graeme Smith, Graham Stack and Yves Ma-Kalambay for the Hibs number one spot and his arrival will cast doubts over the futures of the latter pair.
Yogi, speaking to the official Hibernian website, was delighted at signing the 28-year-old, and said: “Mark is a proven goalkeeper at this level and I am delighted to have secured a player of his calibre.
He’s still got his best years ahead of him, and having another keeper of Mark’s standard at this Club is ideal for me – I want competition throughout the team, and we now have a pool of very talented keepers who will compete for that No 1 jersey. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
Mark Brown said: ”I’m delighted to be joining Hibernian. From the training centre, through to the way the team is playing and the way the Manager and the Club go about their business, it is obviously an exciting place to be at the moment.
I know I will be competing for the jersey with some excellent goalkeeping talent already at the Club, but I’m ready and prepared to work as hard as possible to get into the team. I can’t wait to start training with the boys.”
