Westie's away days
At last week's Branch Meeting, we decided to try a different strategy for
away games this season. Rather than try to get everyone to travel on a bus, we have accepted that people will continue to make their own travel plans. So instead, we now plan to assemble at a pre-arranged point, before moving on to the game together. The first test of this comes on Saturday 20th September, when we take on Hamilton Accies, complete with Martin Canning at the heart of their defence. Our local Hamilton resident (Kenny Hogan), braved the Jambo hoards on Saturday to scout suitable venues. We have settled on a pub called The Tap Room, which sits on Peacock Cross. Get the train to Hamilton West (NOT Central). Coming out the station you will see The Academical Vaults immediately opposite. Cross the road and walk round the corner that the Vaults sits on and you will see The Tap Room on your right hand side. The Tap Room serves food, and allows kids in. They do not allow colours though, so scarves in pockets. It apparently starts to get busy around 13:30, so might be better to get there sharpish. Anyone travelling by car or bus who needs directions, just give me a shout. Also, we are due at Pitoddrie on 4th October. We are looking to co-ordinate train travel, using the Friends & Family fare (a group of 4 for £41.10!!). So we need names quickly to get this booked up before the limited places disappear. Definites only I'm afraid, with payment required up front.

Re: Westie's away days
Also if anyone has any thoughts and information for decent pubs to meet up on away days could you put forward a suggestion.
Aberdeen - Glasgow West - Glasgow East - Dundee - Falkirk - Kilmarnock - Paisley - Motherwell - Hamilton -

Fine work, big fella, and The Crown is a simply phenomenal shout for the East End

Re: Westie's away days
Emm, I thought we were keeping this off-list, so we don't get over-run by Westie wannabees?
