Re: Inverness - Saturday 8th December

That's one helluva jump in price, looks like i will have to at least give it some serious thought, not too keen though on the prices

Okay, it wouldn't be a Westies trip without a few wrinkles!

The Friends Fare has been withdrawn from the Glasgow - Inverness route on 8th December

The cheapest price I can find works out at £32.60 per person (Return).

Also, I understand that there have been some withdrawals from the overnight squad.

I currently have 5 daytrippers - AndyMcPake, weedgiehibbie, stujay_saorsa, Dunc89 and myself.
Are you guys still interested at the increased price?
Any former overnighters looking to be converted to daytrippers?
Any idea why the friends fare has been withdrawn?? Very very annoying for those who were planning to go...and a very UN-friendly decision by whatever rail network is involved.

I am still up for it but I share Langside's Questions, did they tell you why they withdrew it?

Re: Inverness - Saturday 8th December

No reason, no notice, the option is still shown on the website, but is greyed-out and unable to be selected. If I'm being cynical, I suspect they realised that there was a few bob to be made.

We've got two spare train tickets from Perth to Inverness and back if they were up for coming down the road later on the Sunday...

Sorry Andy, should have posted this earlier. All the other daytrippers, including myself, have called off. I know some of the overnighters are still going on the train if you wanted to get them up.

Or there's the bus option shown above.

Apologies once again.

Bill
