Aberdeen & Inverness Travel
This message is being distributed to members with known e-mail addresses and also posted on the Hibees Bounce Forum.
Following on from Thursday’s Meeting (cheers to those in attendance), I’m looking to gauge the possible response to a couple of options for some of the games ahead. We’re looking at taking the train to this game. If booked in advance, you can get a Friends Fare of £41 return for 4 people (£10.25 each). Anyone interested, please let me know either by replying to the e-mail or posting on the Bounce. I’m putting a cut-off date of Sunday 11th November (midnight) as tickets need to be booked in advance. For our second long road trip in a 7-day period we are considering running a mini-bus. However there are a number of options to consider.
Costs for the bus would obviously depend on the numbers travelling. The train would again be £41 for a party of 4, while accommodation is available in Again I need to know you thoughts fairly quickly. So please let me know if you’re interested and what would be your preferred option(s). Can I suggest a cut off point of Sunday 4th November (midnight)? Note, that’s the date of the Hearts game, so it might be an idea to get your details in earlier.

Re: Aberdeen & Inverness Travel
Neither of these trips is likely to be an option for me at present due to work/new baby commitments.
On a general level, I suspect we may struggle to raise too much interest in these games especially with the Aberdeen game switched to the Sunday and being live on TV. I do wonder, given the struggle there has been over the last year or so to attract numbers for buses (and even when there appears to be enough interest you then get hit by call-offs as with the trip to Tannadice) whether there's a better way of getting Westies together for games. Would it be better, perhaps, to look into trips closer to home (eg St Mirren/Motherwell/Gretna) where everyone could meet up for a couple of pints before the game in Glasgow and then get a train to the game. Probably easier for most to go to these games rather than commit a whole day or more to travelling to Inverness. Would also mean that if anyone didn't turn up the branch wouldn't be out of pocket. Anyway, that's just my thoughts on ways of making things a bit more sociable for branch members. Hope I'm wrong and you get numbers for the trips north To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

Re: Aberdeen & Inverness Travel
If we can get 4 people for aberdeen we should take the friends fare option and go! A tenner each is brilliant! Im defenately up for it!

Re: Aberdeen & Inverness Travel
It might be worth splitting the threads as it could become confusing. I am up for going to Inverness with an over night stay, but not for going to Aberdeen Live Tv and all that on a sunday. However it might be worth a wee get together in a pub to watch the Aberdeen game.
