Hibees in Glasgow

Hello all,

I'm moving from sunny Selkirk to Glasgow in september for uni, and this means that I will no longer be getting the bus through to Easter Road with the usual lot. Just wondering if anyone's in a similar predicament, and what they plan to do for travel to see the hibs?

Re: Hibees in Glasgow

We organise buses to some away games or travel by car. Home games most of the guys get the train, cheap and frequent from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Welcome aboard.

Re: Hibees in Glasgow

was talkin with a guy last night I met in a pub. I knew his brother from going to games years ago. Anyway we got talking about the crowd that used to come from Glasgow in the early 80's. One guy used to stick out as he had pure blonde hair. Does he still travel, or any info on who that was?

There's also the Citylink 900 from Buchanan Bus Station, runs every 15 minutes, just gone up to £6.90 for a return, but it might be cheaper if you're a student.

Usually my mode of transport, but it does get a bit busy on a Saturday (wasn't too bad until OAPs got free bus journeys all over Scotland!) and there can be a bit of a queue. Might be worth avoiding it for the next couple of home games, while the festival's on.

Remember the guy, not seen him in years. (I'm sure he was a Newcastle fan too) He used to go to the matches with another Glaswegian, a tall lad - who I see at the matches from time to time.

I occasionally go on this bus and it does indeed get a bit busy. Fortunately they've started putting extra buses on at busy times on Saturdays. Incidentally, I NEVER pay the full price (£6.90, shocking!) as I always book it through this lot [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] . Usually it works out at £3.50 for the return journey, depending on how far ahead you book. Yes, it IS the same bus, just the name's different.

If there were a few going to home games, I'd be delighted to meet up for the sake of some company as it's a long boring journey on your own. Alternatively, I understand there's an offer on Scotrail where four people travel for the price of two if it's off peak and booked ahead. Let me know if anybody's interested and I'll get something arranged.

I've used this in the past to get to Glasgow, the details are here: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]

no need to book, just turn up, happy travelling
