Yes still a meeting on Thursday as suggested at last meeting - post going up as i speak!!

as per usual the way it has operated from day one, it will be emailed out to those with an email address and for those with out access to email, there will be a copy available at the meeting!

Anyway when its emailed out to people, does everyone print it out and bring it along???

i suppose they'll do it the way they've done it since day one. (did you ever print it out??????????)

i still think that those who are fully paid up members but can't make the meetings, should still recieve a copy of the meetings. just my opinion like. i may be wrong. (as usual)

No cos have the time when it was sent it out i did not receive the email!!

we will discuss this at the meeting and decide between all members who attend regularly and see what the majority think!

But whatever happened to the mailing (thats by post) previously of the minutes? To those who didnt get emails.....??

Does this come around now that u cant make meetings am sure this has been previously asked and it was decided that they would be emailed out and a copy was available at the meetings... but we will discuss and let everyone know in due course!!

that's what i've been saying. you can't rely on members to print out their minutes. (although some did)
the point of sending out the minutes to those who don't have an e-mail has been done in the past. (check the cost of stamps with the treasurer) although it it wasn't an ongoing thing. the point i'm making (fwiw), is that maybe we should start letting the non attendees know by post.
the feeling i'm geting out of this is that if you don't come along to meetings, you shouldn't have an opinion.
the membership renewals are due in a couple of months, don't bother sending me a form if this is the way the branch is going.

U confused me here....the way the branch is going ?? branch aint going no where, going still strong from what i see... think ur trying to say its going the wrong way (just from what i am reading, just like what ur doing) but sorry its not!! we are just trying to progress the branch, as it was dying by the wayside few months back!!

I think you're being a tad harsh here. Rightly or wrongly, Mark has gone a bit defensive as he feels you're having a pop (only you will know if that's the case or if it's your legendary?? sense of humour at work) at his efforts.
He has only just taken on the Secretary post and is still finding his feet.
I'm sure he'll do a grand job, but will do it his own way.
He may do it differently from the way you and I (and Elaine) have done it in the past, but that's only to be expected, and he was good enough to volunteer to take on the job in the first place.
As I say it's a voluntary post, so other things will always take priority. I have no doubt he'll do what he can, when he can.

As Mark mentioned, we'll discuss it on Thursday and see what the consensus is, then progress it from there.

thanks for your input bill. maybe manner/sentiment is lost in print, but if you check post 13 (the point i'm making (fwiw), is that maybe we should start letting the non attendees know by post.) it was a recommmendation. not a dig. back to mark, (and i'm sure he can stick up for himself) he confuses me. one minute the branch is dying on it's feet because the members aren't attending meetings or hopping aboard the westies express to aberdeeen or tannadeechy. the next it's 'still going strong'. fair do's it's a voluntary position. i already know that, but maybe someone should tell him to calm down a wee bit. he's had the position for 5 minutes yet bangs the table and orders all members to attend meetings or the branch will die. ( part of that is true tbf).
i know that there are branches in edinburgh who have hundreds of members,yet less than 20 attend their meetings. imagine if the had the same ratio of members to attendees, they would be a rabble.
back to the main issue.
if the way forward for the branch is by being run in an autocratic manner, then i don't want to be part of it.
imo,(again fwiw) is that the branch should be run the way the members want it to. NOT the way the commitee want it to.
the need for a west of scotland based hibs supporters' branch/club is vital. but if it is to be run by brow beating it's members into submission, then i fear for it's future.

I have only been in the position for a short period of time yes, still getting to grips i dont think i have jumped down anyones throats, i have merely tried to reply to folk and let them know whats happening!!

I appreciate Bills comments, another member looking in and wondering what is going on!! If u have a problem with me taking this on board (which by the looks of it u do, as from day one u have left meaningless posts and pointless posts trying to get up everyones nose and to be honest it aint worked) going speak to one of the others and see what reply u get, if u get a reply saying that i have been over the top or taken it the wrong way, accepted but im sure from what they can read im sure i wont stand to be corrected.
