Pain Killers.

Can anybody recommend a good over-the-counter pain killer as I am in fucking agony?

i've been taking Co-Codimol (30/500) and declofenac(50(ithink)), latter is prescription, but is an anti inflamitary,

takes the edge off the pain but doesn't kill it,well it didn't for me

You don't need me to tell you this, but speak to a pharmacist. Syndol helps you sleep though you can probably get stronger painkillers).

Cheers, I didn't sleep a wink last night so that sounds like the stuff for me. I'm off to ASDA to see what I can find. Sport hurts, it was a good though.

I know the feeling, thought getting a cast on might help but hasn't helped and has made more difficult to get comfy

I got a cast yesterday, it's very uncomfortable. What happened to you kink?

They're not sure yet. They're going to decide if I need opperated on or not this Tuesday.

fell off my lorry, Radial Head break at the elbow, luckily 'shouldn't' need OP but i think i might get x-rayed/scanned on monday again just to make sure

They gave me that when I burned my hand. made me feel sick. Stuck wioth paracetemol and ibuprofen in combination and chucked them out.

from working in a pharmacy the best over the counter painkillers are co-codamol 500mg. you can take 2 every 4 hours. you can take ibprofen along with this, 400mg is the recommended limit, make sure you have something to eat though when taking this.

dont be fobbed off with the branded stuff like nurofen, waste of money. but if you ask when at the hospital on tuesday they might get a doc to write you a prescription for Dihydrocodeine or the equivalent, this has a higher dose of codeine. but can effect people is different ways, could make you feel very sick or knock you out.

The predecessors to these little feckers were Voltoral Retard which are now withdrawn,they done a great job but reeked havoc on your stomach,in the lead up to a cup final, i got these from Alan Rae who was the yams physio at the time,i popped too many too quick ,burnt the lining of my stomach and have never drank spirits since.

So be careful how you go with them, although the strength has been vastly reduced.

are you sure? cause i often buy it over the counter, or off the shelves in a supermarket.

in pharmacies you can ask for non prescription drugs over the counter, they might not be displayed so ask!

I only take them when required, which admittedly has been more, recently. but normally only have to take them everysooften

you can still get 8/500 but thats the strongest (as far as i'm aware)
