is coming back on a yr long loan deal ...dinny ken ins and outs but is a sure thing.
sorry if posted already

I'll believe it when I see it. Even then, not fussed too much.

how long does he have left on his deal at the tic?
i thought it was a year, so would the tic not be just as well selling him rather than loan him for the last year![]()

No thanks.
Why bring in a player who can't play against Celtic? If he comes back, which I do not believe for a second, it has to be a permanent deal.

I think it's a cert that he'll be playing down south next season. I'm sure Celtc would rather have him wasting away in the stands rather than have him coming back to ER.
I know that a lot of folk won't like this, but I honestly believe that if, for some reason, they were to ship him out on loan, they'd be more likely to give him to Falkirk, Inverness, or someone.

You only have to look at our disciplinary(and injury) lists to see that we missed some very important players in more games than 3-4 v Celtc.
If, as someone else points out, he scores his 20+ quota against all the rest then that would be an excellent contribution to the team.
I would also say that, I absolutely dont agree with teams, who play in the same division, being able to loan players to each other, but whilst it remains a rule, and it could benefit Hibs, then so be it.

I'm never one to piss on anybody's parade but, if I remember correctly, I think I posted this away back in october/november after his agent had told me it was definitely on during a phone call I had with him regarding a totally unrelated issue about another player on his books. Collins had initially set it up, and after he had departed, it was left to Mixu to say if he still wanted it. Which of course he did, but, alas, wanted to see him play in the flesh, thus fucking up his chance of playing for us in the Scottish.

Not sure I like the sound of this.
Suggests to me that Celtic will be 'using' Hibs to put him in the shop window as he is now beyond the point of no return at Parkhead and will probably never play for Strachan again. Then, come January, they may recall him and punt him for some dough (perhaps enough to cover their initial transfer fee) down south. This would cause Hibs the additional problem of replacing a good player half way through the season.
No thanks. We sign the guy permanently or not at all.

I know where you're coming from Paddy, but, again, as posted earlier, the player would still have the final say on where he goes. If such a scenario happened, wouldn't it be just as equally easy for the player, once returned from his loan spell, to sit tight and wait out the end of the season, then walk for nowt. A deal could easily have been agreed in advance as, come Jan, he's officially free to talk to whoever he likes.
There is no way in hell that Celtc could stop this happening, if the player decides thats what its to be. The player may be of an attitude now that he may be determined that Celtc/Strachan will receive fuck all in return for the hell they've put him through for the past two seasons, unless its him leaving on his terms.

Ok If you did post it in OctHowever, I did post it confirming on what date the deal for Murray and Nish would be done so I appologise for using the word exclusive, will choose my words better next time.
However, I hope you are the one that is correct again about the Loan deal as I would be gutted if he goes to Leeds![]()

Cheers for the reply Gunner.
You may well be right, he may choose to stick it right up Strachan in the way you describe.
However, I'd be slightly worried about Celtic's general motives as, love them or hate them, they are actually fairly astute in the transfer market in my opinion. They would know that Hibs would be slightly unhappy with the idea of Riordan on loan, when that could disrupt the team quite significantly come January.
If this deal has come at their suggestion, they are probably trying to spark interest in him to force the price up at the very least, as has been advertised with the rumour of Leeds' interest.
Waste of talent at the moment
P

But they can also make him available to clubs but deny the rights of particular clubs to approach him (eg Hibs). Being the shower of ****s that they are, I could see them doing this.
Tbh, if Riordan does say "I'll just sit here and collect my wages instead of going out on loan" that won't bother Celtc - it's no different to what he's been doing anyway. It certainly doesn't benefit Deek at all though and if he's too stubborn to accept a season at a lower league English club (or Scottish) then IMO he'll be cutting off his nose to spite his face.

If Deek truly wants back to Hibs, the ball is completley in his court.
Tell Chesney, "I`m going nowhere but ER, tout/whore me to anyone else, I`ll refuse anyway, and keep taking yer fat cheques in the meantime! Do a deal, or I bide my time. Now, Fucking DO ONE!"
It really is Deek`s call.![]()

Personally, I would have a one legged , half blind Deek playing for us 90% of the time. Celtic would see the damage he could cause against the Huns four times a season, have him off the wage structure and give him a shop window for buyers. It would seriously make sense to them.
Then again, sense and the old firm don't usually sit well together.
