NI HIBS: Honorary members

Hail hail all -

We have yet to appoint an honorary member for 2003 and at the moment the running looks like ....

1, George Best
2, Pat Stanton
3, One of the Hibeesbounce.com team

I think Bestie is, em, best left until next yeat (he'll still be an ex-Hibby in 2004), so I suggest Sir Pat or one of the Bounce founders/stalwarts.

Was watching a documentary on Sky 1 (yes, a doco on Sky 1!) and realised we have missed one very very obvious candidate.........

This is the one I would go for. Can I have your comments, please, and if anyone has anything very negative/insensitive to say then wait until you see me if you must, this isn't the place.

Thanks for that bit C, I know the NI Hibs folk won't be insensitive though, they are a good crew :-D

The Bounce admins are chuffed to be considered for honorary membership, but really I think it would be difficult to single out any of us. We are happy that you consider the other choices you mention as we don't any of us as individuals deserve the honour IMHO. Thanks lads, it is much appreciated, but the others you have discussed are much more deserving.

Just spoken to a few members and I'm personally delighted to say that they're opting for John Leslie this year.

A brother Hibby who has acted like a gentleman through a very very sh1tty time.

Am going to enjoy setting this one up.

Funny how we've not thought of John before! I can't believe it!!!! I've been a supporter of him from the start, and there was a tear in my eye watching his documentary on Sky One. A true top bloke.

I vote for John Leslie.

If he accepts it, I think it would be wonderful for a statement could be published on the NI Hibs website. That would give considerable clout to the site, as well as something to remember.

Great minds think alike for sure.

To use the male phrase, I had a lump in my throat watching the very same programme. It really makes you think about these 'fame at all costs' people who don't give a feck about stomping on others to achieve some kind of plasticy 'Hello' magazine lifestyle.

But more than that did you not think - 'what a guy' - when he said he would not be suing those who libelled him?

With a bit of help from others I'm trying to organise the whole thing now and it would be brilliant to have a few lines from him on the site.

Only one John Leslie!....
