Seemed quite promising when he first came through at Celtic - until selected by Berti Vogts in some game for Scotland in which I recall Crainey having a nightmare. I expect that will be enough for some to come on here and tell us he's crap! Can't say I've heard to much about him since he went to England and I'd completely forgotten about him to be honest. At least Hibs are now being linked with plenty players. Hopefully we'll see some decent signings soon

I think when he went south he played for leeds and southampton

Yep, that's what I read. That he has just been released by Leeds. Think he was playing quite a bit for Soton when he first went there but that must be 3 years ago now. Still only 26 I think, which is not a bad age and he has decent experience.

I think that's where I got the info about Crainey. Don't know how good he is these days but although he's been with a Championship club he sounds to me like the type of player who might consider a move back to Scotland to try and revive his career.

It was widely reported that we spent 700,000 on Uli de la Cruz although I think the club denied it was that much. Keith Wright cost about 500,000. Not sure if there have been any others? Maybe someone else out there knows.
