Deano: I had no future under John Collins

Hibees striker Dean Shiels has admitted that he would have left Easter Road had John Collins still been in charge.

Deano was born on the 1st February 1985 in Magherafelt, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He was previously contracted to Arsenal, but made no first team appearances for the club.

Shiels won his first Northern Ireland cap against Portugal in November 2005. He was linked with a move to Leeds United in August 2007 but is currently still at Hibernian and is placed as one of the supporters favourites at Hibernian FC.

The 22 year old had only started twice under Collins in this season but featured in the first team squad in Saturday's defeat to Rangers.

"If Collins had still been here I'd be leaving. He told me that himself. It was nothing personal, just a case of different opinions. But football is a strange game - one minute you are almost out the door and the next you're playing."
