Most disappointing signing

Who is the player that when Hibs signed them you thought they'd be the bee's knee's, but they never really made the grade?

I remeber how highly rated Martin MacIntosh was when we signed him, but he was fairly gash in his short time here.

For the avoidance of doubt, anything stated in the above post is written without prejudice; is probably completely uninformed opinion, and possibly just a figment of my imagination. Readers should either ignore, treat with contempt, or simply accept the spirit it is written in, without recourse to huffy replies, legal action or threats of violence.
That includes YOU.

Difficult one. Stevie Crawford, Paul Hartley, Barry Lavety, Tony Rougier... were all guys who came with good reputations, but never ammounted to much while they were at Hibs IMO. Actually 3 of those guys were signed by Jimmy Duffy I think!

Hakim Sar-Temsoury.

It was round about the point where it became obvious that he was not going to make it that I decided I was going to stop paying any attention to young laddies we signed who were going to be superstars according to the Evening News. If some come through, barry. But they won't come through at much more of a rate than the ones we rear ourselves.

Re: Most disappointing signing

I might get pelters for this but I always thought Stephen Glass was a little disappointing. Probably because he came during Blobby's reign and was slightly talked up by us (the fans) in eager expectation he might be something that would shine out of those dark dark days.

I thought Mcintosh done well for Hibs and was just establishing himself in the team then got sent off last game of the season against Hearts so missed the first few games of the following season. At this time we signed fenwick and smith and moved Le God to sweeper who formed the best defence ive seen at hibs. He just couldn't get back in the team.

That's a good shout. The best player ever at dribbling past 4 or 5 players and always ending up at the corner flag!

He was brilliant in Mowbray's first season though. One of the 'unsung heroes' imo.

Did Eduardo Hurtado come with a bit of a repuation? Or was it just that he was called 'The Tank'?

Re: Most disappointing signing

Paco Luna was rubbish as well.
Stevie ''five sitters'' Crawford should have scored about 100 goals in the 1st division.

Actually, Jarkko Wiss himself was disappointing. He came with a load of international caps and was supposed to be a bit of a playmaker.

After his first season Alan O'Brian was very disappointing. This season looks like a different player so hopefully it continues.

It's murder, I'll never play at the highest level (vs Ayr United at Hampden, midweek) ever again.
