Re: Riordans first 50

How irritating that you can't link to specific pages on the official site. The most basic of basic usability issues and they can't even get that right.

It is if you go to hibernianfc.co.uk where the URLs are hidden for some reason. If you think it's so easy, how do you explain the fact that the OP couldn't manage it?

Not easy in my opinion. Was trying to provide a link to a specific story the other day for somebody who is unlikely to spend their time searching for it. Found this annoying. I never have problems cutting and pasting links anywhere else. Why does the official site have to be different from 99% of other websites in this respect? Judging by HI's comments they seem to think everybody is a computer whizz. Not that difficult for some maybe but how about making things easy for the majority?

Not that difficult.

For the average Joe punter who copies url's from the address bar (as most do), it depends completely on which domain you use to hit the hibs site. use

hibs.co.uk and when you click a link it will update the address bar. Use any other domain, the original poster obviously did and they're using cloaking, eg.

hibernianfc.co.uk, which means no matter what link you click, the address bar will never update (as the domain you have visited doesn't actually host the site - it just pretends to). A better solution would be to include the additional domains as server alias or name based virtual hosts in apache.

Few points -

Do people not think we are over doing the Deek Mania thing ? Yes I'm delighted but no offence but we haven't signed Messi ?!

Who is with Derek in the picture on the first 50 ?

Can't remember!!

Finally I know there was a huge debate on Hibs.net about the official website and the quality of it. Hopefully it will be improved as the content and standard I think is very poor (exception of Hibs Interactive) for a pro club thesedays when majortiy of people use internet.

Re: Riordans first 50

Surprised at the lack of comment re. the fact that Deek had played alongside GO'C throughout their youth development and had developed an uncanny understanding. Each would 'know' where the other would be without looking up.
I really hope Deek is a successful as he was first time round however I think to complete the old magic potion we need to get Gaz back.

(Aye, and throw in Broony and Ivan for good measure)

I think the official reply earlier in this thread gives a good indication of their head-in-the-sand attitude towards the problems with the official site.
