Morais

Very impressive tonight. Great commitment and energy. Actual football not bad either.

I reckon he's earned his place for Saturday and if all 11 give a similar performance to Morais tonight then it'll be a comfortable 3 points.

The only thing I find about Morais is that he always seems to play a lot better when he comes on as a sub. Or if he does start, he has less impact compared to when he comes on.

I personally put him into the long-established Hibernian "Super-Sub" category.

I do like him though, and he should feature every week on match-days based on the current squad of players.

He had a pretty decent game, cant really argue with that but sometimes he would go past a couple of players and play the wrong pass. Its easy for me sitting watching to say that I know but its fukking infuriating at times dont you think.

Having now criticised him for his passing ability I would agree he is deffo worth a place on the bench and being brought on with half an hour to go when the oppos defence is becoming jaded.

This could have been a post about Ivan Sproule during his spell with us! They are wingers, it's what wingers tend to be like at SPL level unfortunately.

Think Ivan had a lot more of an end product though. Likely to be directly involved in around 20 goals a season.
Morais has a decent turn of pace, a few good tricks, strikes the ball powerfully, gives it 100%, doesn't hide even on a bad day but, ultimately, produces very little. I'd like Hibs to keep him, because of all his positives, but he'd have to show real signs of delivering goals and assists this season or I'd be looking to punt him next summer. The current journalistic cliche would be "flatters to deceive".

Re: Morais

He played very well last night and was certainly hungry to impress. One of his better games. Morais needs to now find a consistancy. I'm unsure who would come out of the team that started the game though K? Shiels for Morais? I think Dean gives more consistancy (no by much mind). DS's first half performance wasn't that far away from Morais's second and was certainly the second best player on show last night. I think Morais has earned himself first option as substitute and has also cemented his place within future match squads until his form dips.

Re: Morais

Thought Morais was very bright and lively when he came on and Wigan had to resort to hacking him down at times to stop him (wish Chisholm had done the same in the build up to Wigan's goal!). He certainly gave Mixu a decision to make about the starting line up at Killie

I'd not start with O'Brien in favour of Morais based on last night.

AOB looks brighter but he's hardly been impressive IMHO.

I thought Shiels looked very bright last night.

Morais was certainly involved form the moment he came on. AOB was perhaps unfortunate in that the play in the first half was mostly down our right [for some reason Andy McNeill can only kick in that direction] and therefore he didnt have as many opportunities to become more involved. When he got the ball he looked lively enough.
